Director of Applied AI Product

Acceleration PartnersLos Angeles, TX
Remote

About The Position

Acceleration Partners is seeking a Director of AI Product to lead the integration of applied AI into their partnership marketing strategies. This remote role involves hands-on prototyping, building agentic workflows, and shipping solutions against real client data rapidly. The Director will own the technical approach and product roadmap, working closely with engineering, data, client services, and strategy teams to translate client needs into measurable value. This position is central to the agency's strategy of leveraging AI to enhance its industry-leading partnership marketing services.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience building products with modern AI tools, including hands-on work with AI agents and agentic frameworks.
  • A director-level track record in product, with real ownership of roadmap, discovery, and delivery end to end.
  • Shipped products that people adopted and that drove measurable business outcomes.
  • Working fluency with data (SQL and modern data warehouses) and contemporary web technologies, deep enough to build prototypes and make real technical tradeoffs.
  • A history of owning measurable business outcomes, not only shipping features.
  • Demonstrated experience operationalizing product rollouts: communication plans, release notes, documentation, and enablement materials.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the standing to influence executives and engineers alike.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in affiliate, influencer, partnership, retail media, or marketing technology.
  • Founder, early-stage, or technical-leadership background.
  • Experience with data platforms, analytics tooling, or BI products (e.g., Power BI, data warehouses, reporting pipelines).
  • Built or contributed to open-source AI or agent tooling.
  • Stood up production software or driven a build in-house, not only managed vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Pressure-test and help shape the product thesis, bringing depth in AI and modern build practices to guide decisions on what is feasible and what is missing.
  • Execute the product direction, translating it into shipped product that delivers measurable value, and take on increasing ownership of the roadmap and vision as the platform matures.
  • Move concepts into working software quickly, prototyping and shipping in weeks rather than quarters, building tools and agentic workflows that perform real work against real client data.
  • Apply AI fluency across the entire product lifecycle, including discovery, prioritization, prototyping, and validation.
  • Partner with engineering and data teams to transition prototypes into secure, reliable production systems, maintaining a high standard for client-ready products.
  • Maintain a deep, continuously updated understanding of the user landscape across client and internal teams, identifying current tool limitations and ideal user experiences.
  • Validate assumptions before committing to build and identify potential user adoption barriers early.
  • Continuously gather feedback from users after shipping and integrate it into roadmap evolution.
  • Serve as a technical peer to engineering and data teams, owning the technical approach, making build-versus-buy decisions, and ensuring production readiness.
  • Own the strategy for in-house development versus sourcing from partners, optimizing for speed, quality, and cost.
  • Ensure coherence across the end-to-end development process, from prototyping to production.
  • Define and own success metrics in terms of client outcomes (e.g., retention, revenue, win rates) rather than internal usage metrics.
  • Continuously measure, iterate, and improve the business impact of shipped products.
  • Design and drive adoption of the platform to integrate naturally into existing workflows.
  • Own the operationalization of shipped products, including clear rollout communication, documentation, and enablement materials.
  • Run a disciplined communication rhythm around rollouts and changes, ensuring stakeholders are informed.
  • Keep leadership and cross-functional teams updated on the roadmap, priorities, and build status.
