Director of AI Strategy & Enablement

FullbayPhoenix, AZ
Onsite

About The Position

At Fullbay, our mission is simple — to create safer roads for our families and yours. As leaders in the heavy-duty repair industry, we power shops with technology that helps them run smarter and more efficiently. As an AI-First company, we invite artificial intelligence to eliminate friction, spark innovation, and drive efficiencies in every conversation— for our teams and our customers. The Director of AI Strategy & Enablement is a senior, cross-functional leader who will shape and drive Fullbay's AI agenda across the entire organization. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role serves as both a strategic advisor and a hands-on practitioner — identifying high-impact AI opportunities, building and deploying solutions, and enabling every team to work smarter through AI. This is an individual contributor role designed to evolve in scope and leadership over time, in close collaboration with People Experience and department leaders across the business.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in strategy, business operations, transformation, or a related field — with a demonstrated track record of driving change across organizations.
  • Depth of AI fluency is weighted equally to tenure; candidates earlier in their careers who are deeply AI-native are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Proven, hands-on experience applying AI tools and solutions in a business context — as an early adopter, practitioner, or initiative leader.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives that span multiple departments and stakeholder groups.
  • Technical fluency with AI platforms, APIs, and workflow automation tools; ability to build and deploy solutions independently.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills — able to translate complex AI concepts for non-technical audiences and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and experimentation mindset — able to test hypotheses, measure ROI, and communicate results clearly.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills; comfortable partnering with senior leaders and department heads.
  • Ability to operate independently, move quickly from idea to prototype, and drive adoption across functions.
  • Strong project management instincts — able to establish timelines, manage priorities, and navigate ambiguity in a fast-moving environment.
  • Proactive risk identification and problem-solving mindset.
  • Genuine curiosity about AI trends and emerging technologies, with the drive to continuously learn and apply new capabilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in SaaS or subscription-based business models preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own and continuously evolve Fullbay's AI strategy, ensuring alignment with company-wide goals and emerging capabilities.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and senior leadership on where and how AI can create meaningful leverage across the organization.
  • Maintain a prioritized backlog of AI initiatives, balancing quick wins with longer-term, high-impact opportunities.
  • Establish a repeatable AI experimentation framework: Identify and prioritize opportunities aligned with revenue and operational impact. Run pilots and proofs-of-concept. Measure effectiveness and scale successful solutions.
  • Resource AI initiatives responsibly — with ownership of dedicated budget for tooling, enablement, and external support, ensuring spend is allocated toward the highest-impact priorities.
  • Act as a cross-functional AI leader, partnering with department heads across Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Product, Finance, People Experience, and Operations to identify high-impact opportunities.
  • Translate business challenges into scalable AI and automation solutions that drive efficiency, quality, and growth.
  • Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams, ensuring alignment, clarity, and adoption.
  • Partner with Data, Product, and Engineering to ensure seamless integration with core systems and platforms.
  • Lead AI enablement initiatives that improve AI fluency across the organization, empowering non-technical teams to adopt and apply AI effectively.
  • Develop internal playbooks, documentation, and training programs to scale AI knowledge and usage.
  • Host regular workshops to share best practices, successful use cases, and emerging trends.
  • Curate and communicate relevant AI tools, frameworks, and innovations to internal stakeholders.
  • Identify and cultivate a network of AI advocates across departments — high-potential team members who can amplify AI adoption within their functions, extending the reach of enablement beyond a single role.
  • Build, test, and deploy AI-powered workflows that drive measurable efficiency and business impact across the organization.
  • Architect end-to-end automation pipelines across the company's tech stack, ensuring scalability, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Productize and standardize successful AI solutions for reuse across teams.
  • Continuously optimize workflows based on performance data and user feedback.
  • Partner with the CTO and technology leadership to uphold clear standards for how data interacts with AI integrations — including what information is appropriate to pass through external AI APIs or embedded workflows — ensuring all solutions are built with privacy, security, and compliance in mind.
  • Define and track success metrics for AI initiatives, including time saved, cost reduction, adoption rates, and business impact.
  • Communicate results clearly to senior stakeholders and iterate based on learnings.
  • Contribute to a culture of innovation, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as the role evolves, with potential to expand scope and leadership over time.
