About The Position

Xavier University invites applications for the position of Director of Adult Education, a strategic leadership role dedicated to supporting the important demographic of adult undergraduate learners at Xavier, expanding opportunities for them, and strengthening pathways to degree completion. Reporting to the Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences, the Director of Adult Education will provide institution-wide leadership for adult learner initiatives, working collaboratively across Academic Affairs, Enrollment Management, Student Affairs, and Xavier's academic colleges. The successful candidate will offer vision in shaping and implementing strategies that support adult student recruitment, enrollment, retention, and graduation, all grounded in Xavier University's mission of educational excellence and student success. Additionally, the successful candidate will use data-informed decision making and market insights to enhance the adult learner experience from initial inquiry through degree completion.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Higher Education or related field
  • Five to ten years of relevant experience
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to master and organize details
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to prioritize tasks to manage multiple projects

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of Xavier University's vision and strategy for adult undergraduate education and identify academic pathways, degree-completion programs, and certificate opportunities aligned with adult student needs.
  • Coordinate university-wide efforts to support adult learners throughout the student lifecycle, in collaboration with advising, financial aid, enrollment, student affairs, and academic units to ensure a seamless student experience.
  • Coordinate adult education initiatives across academic and administrative units and collaborate with faculty and college leadership to align course offerings and academic pathways with student demand.
  • Analyze enrollment, retention, and completion data for adult learners, develop recommendations that inform strategic planning and decision-making, and support institutional assessment efforts and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide oversight (for example, for curricular changes and degree sign-offs) and serve as key point of contact for Xavier’s current two undergraduate online degree programs (Bachelor of Liberal Arts and Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership) and two certificate programs that are housed in the College of Arts & Sciences.
