About The Position

Oklahoma City University School of Law seeks a Director of Academic Achievement to begin on August 1, 2027. This position can be either a staff or faculty role. The Academic Achievement Department's mission is to train a diverse student population for law school rigor, bar exams, and legal practice through for-credit courses, workshops, and individual coaching. The Director will manage all aspects of the Academic Achievement program, teach for-credit courses, and assist in developing and running the post-graduation bar preparation program. The role is eligible for faculty status at the Instructor level, with potential for a long-term, voting position as a Senior Instructor after a probationary period. Faculty candidates must undergo a faculty hiring process including a "job talk." Instructors are not required to conduct scholarship but must be excellent teachers, engage in service to the school, and contribute to the faculty community. The Director reports to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.

Requirements

J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school or a foreign law degree with a U.S. LL.M. or S.J.D.
Excellent academic background.
Strong commitment to becoming an effective and engaged classroom teacher.
Ability to design and administer vigorous academic enhancement programs.
Sincere commitment to integrity and a welcoming environment.
Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
