About The Position

Provides executive nursing leadership and oversight for assigned patient care areas, ensuring safe, high‑quality, and efficient clinical operations with 24‑hour accountability for clinical and administrative functions. Plans, directs, and coordinates administrative and operational activities to meet regulatory requirements, support patient access and growth, and align care delivery with organizational priorities. Oversees financial management for assigned areas, including preparation and administration of operating and capital budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility, resource alignment, and compliance with approved financial guidelines. Manages workforce productivity and staffing effectiveness by monitoring performance metrics, optimizing resource utilization, and supporting the development and performance of leaders and staff. Develops and implements strategic plans, goals, policies, and procedures that align with the mission, values, and strategic objectives of the organization and support continuity of operations during leadership transitions or vacancies. Leads evaluation, planning, and implementation of new or expanded services, including assessment of financial feasibility, staffing needs, reimbursement impact, and market trends to support program growth and sustainability. Builds and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians, leaders, system partners, and external stakeholders to facilitate communication, resolve operational issues, and ensure integrated, patient‑focused care delivery. Ensures compliance with quality, accreditation, and regulatory standards by overseeing performance improvement initiatives, monitoring regulatory changes, updating policies and procedures, and promoting a culture of patient safety. Leads customer and associate satisfaction initiatives by integrating satisfaction principles into change management, engaging staff in decision‑making, and driving continuous improvement in patient and workforce experience Designs and directs the work of the assigned area(s) of responsibility. Selects, coaches, and develops teams, setting objectives that align with organizational strategy to inspire and motivate the teams. Manages organizational talent through performance management, succession planning, and development. Designs and directs processes by which team and individual performance are recognized, feedback is consistently delivered, and performance is systematically improved. Develops and/or recommends operating and capital budgets and controls expenditures within approved budget objectives. Responsible for understanding and adhering to the organization's Code of Ethical Conduct and for ensuring that people actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations, and laws applicable to the organization's business.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in health care related field.
  • Advanced degree in Business Administration, Hospital Administration or a health care related field.
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices
  • Typically requires 7 years of experience in nursing.
  • Includes 3 years of management experience in managing multiple, large, complex inpatient nursing departments.
  • Demonstrated management skills, including ability to work well with others, team building and conflict resolution skills, effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work across all lines of management and staff to promote good relationships among departments.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare finance.
  • Must be willing to float and flex as the site and department needs.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently during work shift.
  • Occasionally required to lift over 50 lbs. with assistance.
  • Required to use foot pedals on carts or machines.
  • Must have functional sight and hearing.
  • Exposed to the following hazards on a continuous basis: mechanical, electrical, chemical, radiation, blood and body fluids.

Nice To Haves

  • DNP preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in nursing leadership that includes experience in multiple areas and skill oversight.
  • Leadership certification preferred.
