City of Hope is seeking an experienced and mission-driven Director of Nursing, Infusion to provide strategic and operational leadership for infusion services in a complex oncology care environment. This leader will oversee daily operations, clinical quality, patient experience, staffing, regulatory readiness, and fiscal performance while developing a high-performing nursing team committed to safe, compassionate, and efficient care delivery.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Nursing, or a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with a Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Current California RN license, or ability to obtain within the required timeframe.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
  • Seven or more years of nursing experience required, including progressive nursing leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through change, build collaborative relationships, use data to drive decisions, and develop high-performing teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong oncology and/or infusion services experience preferred, including knowledge of chemotherapy, biotherapy, immunotherapy, transfusion support, central line care, and ambulatory oncology workflows.
  • National certification in area of expertise or leadership required within designated timeframe; oncology or chemotherapy/biotherapy certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and day-to-day leadership for infusion nursing operations, including staffing, patient flow, quality outcomes, resource utilization, and service growth.
  • Partner with clinical and operational leaders to optimize infusion capacity, access, scheduling, chair utilization, patient throughput, and care coordination.
  • Ensure infusion nursing practice meets professional, regulatory, accreditation, safety, infection prevention, medication administration, and chemotherapy/biotherapy standards.
  • Lead performance improvement initiatives that enhance patient safety, patient experience, operational efficiency, staff engagement, and clinical outcomes.
  • Develop, coach, and retain nurse managers and clinical teams while promoting accountability, shared governance, professional development, succession planning, and a positive work environment.
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacy, quality, finance, human resources, and other enterprise partners to support high-quality oncology care and organizational priorities.
  • Monitor key operational, quality, fiscal, and staffing metrics; identify trends, mitigate risk, and implement corrective action plans as needed.
  • Develop and manage budgets, staffing plans, productivity expectations, capital needs, and resource requests for assigned infusion areas.
  • Serve as a visible, approachable, and accountable leader who promotes City of Hope’s values, supports change, and inspires teams to deliver excellent patient-centered care.
