About The Position

Primary purpose: To manage, optimize and oversee the marketing & scheduling of residue gas and NGL products for the Tallgrass midstream assets. Responsibilities Essential duties and responsibilities: Market and optimize margins on the sale of natural gas, plant NGLs, and field condensate. Analyze, trend, and assist to optimize NGL plant recoveries at Casper and Douglas Processing Plants. Ensure the scheduling to optimize the timing of pipeline and truck transportation of NGLs into and out of the Douglas and Casper Processing Plants. Monitor plant NGL inventories and ensure adequate product deliveries to sustain customer commitments and plant operations. Monitor NGL product specifications at both Douglas and Casper Processing Plants to make sure Tallgrass is meeting downstream specs (e.g. pipeline, customer specs, etc.). Provide outstanding customer service and relationships with customers, marketers, processors, suppliers and service providers. Ensure the scheduling and nomination of pipeline transportation for residue gas from the Casper & Douglas Processing Plant tailgates while minimizing the pipeline imbalance. Ensure the scheduling of pipeline transportation and purchase of natural gas fuel and shrink needs of the two plants while minimizing the pipeline imbalance. Nominate and/or forecast NGLs to the NGL pipeline, as needed. Coordinate between commercial and operations the volumes as needed to optimize and balance processing infrastructure. Dispose of any off-spec supply that appears at either of the Tallgrass Processing Plants. Be available, as required, when operational or commercial needs require attention. Maintain and provide analytical data and reports required to facilitate job responsibilities and as requested by management. Facilitate facility outage coordination with customers and Operations. Work with Midstream accounting to provide forecasts, new contract updates and marketing information as needed. Comply with all company requirements including internal accounting/auditing control requirements related to this position. Foster a positive open work environment, systems approaches and disciplined execution of all assigned tasks. Develop and maintain professional relationships with both internal and external clients. Deal effectively with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy and professionalism. Speak clearly, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of verbal and listening skills. Maintain regular, dependable attendance and a consistently high level of performance. Work non-traditional hours as needed. Maintain the highest regard for personal safety, safety of company assets and employees, and the general public. Be ready to take on assignments of other duties and special projects as needed. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or a minimum 10 years of experience in NGL commercial operations
  • Proficient negotiation skills, and data analysis presentation of ongoing and future market conditions/competition to maximize margins
  • Intermediate proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).
  • Analytical skills to perform timely economic evaluations and capture market opportunities
  • Must keep current and understand on-going applicable market dynamics
  • Must be effective at contract negotiations
  • Establish, perform and maintain outstanding customer service
  • Willingness and ability to seek, evaluate and pursue new opportunities

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in Commercial Operations and/or Business Development within the NGL industry
  • Previous direct external customer relations management experience
  • Experience in the NGL, natural gas, and/or oil industry
  • Previous experience with gathering and processing facilities
  • Previous NGL and natural gas experience including scheduling and transportation experience with NGLs and natural gas
  • Proficiency with various interstate pipeline scheduling websites.
  • Working knowledge of NAESB Standard and Guidelines as it relates to Nominations, Confirmations and Scheduling.
  • Working knowledge of each Tallgrass Gas Interstate Pipeline’s tariff specifically focusing on the services and scheduling areas.
  • Prior experience in the Midstream/Scheduling business processes sector is strongly preferred.
