Condé Nast is seeking a Director, Newsletter & Email Strategy. This is a key leadership role in Audience Strategy within Content Operations. Newsletter and email strategies at Condé Nast are fast evolving, and we require a bold leader to lead newsletter transformation. This person will bring confident strategies, guide editorial teams, pivot fast, and champion newsletter and email at Condé Nast globally. Condé Nast’s approach to newsletters is evolving from considering email as a distribution platform to conceiving of newsletters as editorial products that delight readers and meet audience needs. Our brands are growing their direct-relationship audiences and email provides both relationships, and a stable source of referrals to sites. Future-facing email strategies protect the consumer’s inbox, drive all Unified KPIs, create community (through call-and-response Q&As) and convert and retain paying subscribers (via premium newsletters). Condé Nast’s email strategy must also evolve, with a focus on email acquisition, a contact strategy to prevent churn and unsubs from email/newsletter channels, and a single brand voice for the channel. The Director and Newsletter & Email Strategy will partner with the marketing and lifecycle teams to ensure the highest quality of inbox experiences that match our brands. This new role is needed to influence and have impact: The role sets strategy with brand teams. This role must influence laterally: tight alignment with the lifecycle team, marketing and brand teams on a single inbox experience and brand voice. Works with product to expedite newsletter and email capabilities globally. Influences partnerships with platforms such as Substack. This person manages an Email Ops team, which oversees email set up and delivery for emails that are sent via our Email Service Provider, and two newsletter strategists.
