The Director, New Market Operations is responsible for leading newly affiliated markets through the transition into Unified Women’s Healthcare’s Management Services Organization (MSO). This role provides operational leadership, structured support, and cross-functional coordination during the first 1-2 years following affiliation, ensuring market leaders, practice administrators, and physician partners are effectively supported as they adopt Unified’s operating model, systems, governance processes, and performance expectations. This position partners with Division Presidents, Market Leaders, functional leaders, integration teams, and physician leadership to translate deal strategy into operational execution. The Director coordinates across market operations, finance, revenue cycle, human resources, information technology, legal/compliance, credentialing, payer enrollment, and other enterprise support functions to align priorities, remove barriers, and support consistent execution of integration and performance objectives. This role facilitates stakeholder alignment, clarifies ownership and accountability, escalates risks, and supports resolution of issues that may impact value realization, provider experience, operational adoption, or market readiness. The Director monitors financial, productivity, provider experience, and integration performance indicators; identifies risks and barriers to value realization; and partners with senior leaders and functional stakeholders to address issues and support expected business outcomes. The role requires strong business acumen, change leadership, stakeholder influence, and the ability to balance standardization with market-specific needs in a complex healthcare environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in a related field required.
  • 10+ years of experience in consulting and/or complex program management and change management required
  • 5+ years of Operations leadership, business leadership preferred
  • Robust experience leading post-deal, integration work for mergers or acquisitions, preferably in healthcare or financial services, through strong program management, collaboration and communication across matrixed organization
  • Direct experience in the physician services industry preferred
  • Hands-on operational, change management and leadership experience with accountability for KPIs and combining strategy and execution; experience working with physicians
  • A depth of knowledge and hands-on experience with operations and experience communicating to senior leadership regarding key issues and mitigation plans
  • Strong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence and good judgment and capability of communicating with a diverse range of individuals. Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the enterprise, including physicians and care center staff.
  • Strong written communication skills and proven capacity to develop and deliver a point of view
  • Comfort juggling multiple priorities and the judgement to appropriately escalate, delegate, and take direct ownership
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Experience creating presentations for business executives and physician groups
  • Travel required up to 20-50%

Responsibilities

  • Lead newly affiliated markets through the first 1-2 years following affiliation, providing operational direction, stakeholder partnership, and guidance as market leaders, practice administrators, and physician partners adopt Unified’s MSO operating model, systems, governance processes, and performance expectations.
  • Coordinate cross-functional work across market operations, finance, revenue cycle, human resources, information technology, legal/compliance, credentialing, payer enrollment, and other enterprise support functions to align integration priorities, clarify ownership, remove barriers, and support coordinated execution of market readiness and performance objectives.
  • Partner with Division Presidents, Market Leaders, functional leaders, integration teams, Strategic Affiliations, and physician leadership to translate deal strategy into operational execution and support achievement of expected financial, productivity, provider experience, and integration performance outcomes.
  • Lead Steering Committee activities and facilitate alignment across matrixed stakeholders for key business decisions beginning at LOI and continuing through integration, ensuring risks, dependencies, and unresolved issues are escalated and addressed timely.
  • Serve in an advisory and coaching capacity to Integration and Implementation project management teams, providing guidance on stakeholder engagement, operational adoption, change management, issue resolution, and communication strategies for acquired entities.
  • Identify, escalate, and resolve stakeholder concerns that may impact value realization, provider and manager satisfaction, operational adoption, or market readiness; communicate risks, mitigation plans, progress, and successes effectively to senior leaders and other stakeholders.
  • Attend periodic training sessions, meetings, and planning discussions as required.
