About The Position

This position is located with the Directorate of Human Resources, Fort Campbell, KY. Duties Advise on implementation of policies and programs to the Garrison Commander (GC), Garrison Manager (GM), Deputy to the Garrison Commander (DGC), and Deputy Garrison Manager (DGM). Provide technical and administrative supervision of administrative, professional, and technical personnel engaged in directorate operations. Provide expert advice on policy, directives, and guidelines on a full range of matters pertinent to assigned functions. Responsible for the final review and recommendation on the Financial Program and Budget Plan for assigned programs.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • Position designated as "Mission Essential" to perform essential duties defined as critical and essential regardless of weather conditions, emergency situations, or general dismissal.
  • Position designated as "Key" and may not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the agency or office to function effectively.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the OPM General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG).
  • A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

  • One year of specialized experience which includes: Directing and managing complex military personnel readiness, support, or transition programs (e.g., casualty operations, family readiness, transition assistance, or mobilization support) across a major military command, installation, or enterprise-level organization.
  • Serving as a principal advisor to senior military and civilian executives on strategic program execution, resource allocation, and regulatory compliance within military personnel administration.
  • Formulating and implementing organizational policies, long-range strategic plans, and standard operating procedures to optimize program efficiency and readiness metrics.
  • Supervising or leading a diverse professional team (civilian, military, and/or contractor personnel), to include managing workloads, evaluating performance, and overseeing program budgets.
  • Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
  • Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade, time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
  • This position requires a 1 year probationary period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest.
  • Direct deposit of pay is required.
  • Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
