About The Position

The Director, Medical Physics-Radiation Oncology assumes responsibility and accountability for operations and success of physics and radiation safety programs. Provides leadership and manages the work assignments, schedules, and functions of the Medical Physicists and/or Dosimetrists. Responsible for overseeing medical physics, radiation program deliverables such as design, technical evaluation, precise delivery of radiation treatment plans, and/or radiation safety practices. Develops and recommends the implementation of new programs or treatment alternatives to meet regulatory and accreditation compliance and to enhance the patient care experience. Ensures adherence to all regulatory requirements and accrediting bodies. Contributes to the success of the hospitals through the achievement of System, hospital, divisional and regional goals. Sets the vision and culture and builds ownership and process improvement for sustainable value-added services. Provides leadership and administers fiscal, Corporate, and human resource policies and practices in a multi-skilled, multi-functional environment. Collaborates with cross-department and cross-divisional teams for standardization in services, quality, and safety. Develops and implements physics and radiation quality management and safety programs and the review and approval of procedures followed by staff. This role will have oversight responsibilities for Radiation Oncology departments.

Requirements

  • Masters Degree in Physics
  • 7 years Radiation Therapy experience
  • 3 years of Leadership experience
  • American Board of Radiology or American Board of Medical Physics certification
  • Diagnostic Medical Physics Certification - Certification - American Board of Radiology (ABR)
