Requirements

  • MD, PhD, PharmD, NP or PA or other advanced health care degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
  • 5 years of relevant work experience in the delivery of clinical services for HIV treatment and/or prevention required
  • 3 years pharmaceutical industry experience required
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team of highly-functioning health-care professionals
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective, positive relationships with internal and external scientific stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategy and translate strategy into action, excellent analytical skills and an ability to communicate complex issues in plain language
  • Excellent strategic and organizational skills to support project management/planning across multiple activities
  • Ability to anticipate and prioritize workload on multiple ongoing projects
  • Excellent teamwork skills, both in leading and as part of a cross functional team
  • Organized; attention to detail and able to meet timelines in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to work with a level of autonomy and independence in a complex cross-functional team matrix
  • Must be fully cognizant and adhere to regulatory and legal (Business Conduct) requirements for implementation science and all other Medical Affairs activities

Responsibilities

  • Act as a scientific expert medical liaison in collaborative engagements between US Medical Affairs, Global Medical Affairs, and US/Global Commercial teams on the development of educational resources.
  • Serve as the medical and scientific expert in the development of specific HIV prevention educational tools, including educational tools on the implementation of PrEP.
  • Advise on the pedagogical framework for new education initiatives, matching delivery systems and rightsizing content to provider type.
  • Support Medical Affairs through the provision of educational training to both medical and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Review Committee to assure scientific accuracy and compliance for new educational materials.
  • Communicate medical education initiatives, strategies, timelines, and plans to commercial stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Regulatory, Clinical, Public/Government Affairs, and other partner functions to lead or support cross-functional projects.
  • Provide medical educational support for US commercial activities including but not limited to field education and scientific advisory boards (planning, content review, and presentation).
  • Promotional Review Committee (PRC) concept discussions and material reviews.
  • Review and contribute to training materials for all field teams.
  • Present at field training sessions, including midyear and national meetings.
  • Support the development and delivery of training workshops and strategic/tactical planning sessions.
  • Support the US Prevention Strategy Lead in future launch educational activities.
