About The Position

This role involves assessing client briefs and category dynamics to develop customized media strategies that address client challenges. The Director will utilize all available resources to lead the development of integrated, data-driven media strategies and channel mixes, recognizing the synergy between Traditional and Digital media channels to achieve brand marketing goals. Key responsibilities include evaluating geographic/market nuances, identifying revenue-driving audiences, coordinating promotions for Healthcare Professionals and Consumers/Patients, understanding content's role in behavior change, and balancing broad vs. precision targeting. The role requires identifying and prioritizing high-value audiences using data for strategic development and execution. Collaboration with the Data & Analytics team is essential for data-grounded recommendations and planning. The Director will also work cohesively with Subject Matter Experts (Search, Social, Analytics) and Account teams during plan development and new business support. This position requires presenting media assignments and recommendations in client meetings and representing the Solve(d) media team during New Business assignments, including crafting compelling PowerPoint presentations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 8+ years of integrated Off-line and Online Media Planning experience
  • Has been primarily responsible for stewarding end-to-end plan development for at least one client/brand with experience in the pharmaceutical category
  • Experience working with media-vendor community and an understanding of publisher offerings and buying models is important, though this position will not require detailed tactical planning & buying
  • Experience in developing thoughtful, insight-driven and integrated media and measurement strategy to help clients achieve their objectives
  • Worked across multiple therapeutic categories and patient types, understanding strategic nuances of planning for broad conditions/populations vs. rare disease
  • Has been primarily responsible for stewarding end-to-end plan development for multiple clients/brands in pharmaceutical industry
  • High degree of comfort and confidence in new business situations and engagement with senior agency staff and clients
  • Effective in using syndicated and proprietary data to uncover target and behavioral insights that drive well-reasoned recommendations
  • Skilled at applying learnings and best practices from one client, to another situation – effectively drawing and communicating parallels, and adapting for new circumstances

Responsibilities

  • Assessing client’s briefing and category dynamics, and developing a customized strategy to use media to help solve the client’s challenge(s)
  • Utilize all available resources (syndicated, proprietary & historical) to actively lead development of integrated, data-driven media strategy and channel mix, recognizing the unique strengths of both Traditional & Digital media channels working together to accomplish brand marketing goals
  • Evaluate geographic/market level nuances, which audiences represent the greatest source of revenue, coordination of promotion to Healthcare Professionals and Consumers/Patients, content needs to change behavior, and broad vs. precision targeting
  • Understand how to identify and prioritize different high value audiences, and use data to effectively develop strategies to find them with greater proficiency
  • Engage with Data & Analytics team to develop and support strategic recommendations grounded in data, with an understanding of how to pull through into planning approach and in-market execution
  • Coordinate and work cohesively with other Subject Matter Experts (e.g. – Search, Social, Analytics), as well as Account teams during plan development process for existing clients, and when supporting new business
  • Be prepared to attend and present media assignments and recommendations in live meetings with clients, including existing clients and potential new business.
  • Represent Solve(d) media team during New Business assignments, including the ability to craft a succinct and compelling story in PowerPoint that summarizes agency’s media strategy and approach to the challenges posed in the assignment
