Interested in joining us on our journey? We’re seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Materials to lead and elevate the materials function at our Decatur manufacturing facility. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, engineering, or other relevant fields.
  • 10+ years’ experience working within a manufacturing environment, including prior experience leading work teams.
  • Proven systems experience and capabilities, including MRP/ERP systems and MS Word/Excel
  • Strong planning and forecasting abilities, including experience with production control, master scheduling, and Lean initiatives.
  • Skilled in systematic problem-solving and data analysis.
  • Drive factory flow initiatives removing waste from the production line and reducing total cost/unit
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, able to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Proven change management experience and successful implementation of new processes.
  • Customer-focused, energetic, and proactive in addressing issues.
  • Outstanding presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks effectively.
  • Experience in supplier management and project execution.
  • Up to date with technology and developments in supply chain management.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years’ materials management experience within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge and application of WCM(World Class Manufacturing) LCS (Logistics & Customer Service) methodology a plus
  • APICS and Six Sigma certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high-performing Materials Management team across multiple shifts
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service, cost, and inventory performance
  • Partner with Product Management and Sales to align inventory strategies with business goals
  • Optimize inventory levels, improve turns, and reduce working capital through strategic planning
  • Implement and sustain Lean and Six Sigma methodologies across materials processes
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, ERP, and Lean teams to improve accuracy and flow
  • Oversee inventory controls including ABC classification, safety stock, and EOQ modeling
  • Lead inventory reduction initiatives and ongoing working capital reviews
  • Champion best practices and share learnings across the broader organization
  • Ensure compliance with systems, tools, and reporting requirements
