Requirements

  • Demonstrates broad and comprehensive understanding of different systems, theories and practices as well as the changing business environment
  • Applies in-depth knowledge of own segment/function, business and commercial expertise to differentiate itself from the competition
  • Leads a business unit, department or sub-function generally through multiple levels of managers of diverse activities; develops and executes business unit, department or sub-functional strategy to achieve key business objectives
  • Evaluates key business challenges; directs the development of new or innovative solutions
  • Guided by company strategy and business objectives, impacts results of segment/function
  • Influences and negotiates at the top executive levels, with great latitude on outcomes; presents and defends complicated or delicate issues

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overseeing all materials/ supply chain operations globally, including financial performance for MCOS, inventory management, and other P&L implications for smaller business units within Applied Materials
  • Provides leadership, direction and strategy development and makes final administrative or operational decisions within level of authority. Ensure group's activities role model safe behavior, follow proper protocol and procedures, including core values
  • Develops strategies to drive efficiency and effectiveness within Materials Management
  • Responsible for establishing and ensuring adherence to best practice policies and procedures. Recommends policies and procedures relative to Material Management’s technology practices and suppliers.
  • Provides expert consultation to Senior Management and other management staff regarding expense management techniques, materials management practices, supply costs, utilization and consumption analyses, capital budgeting and industry trends and technical advances in the field.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with all levels of Company management to serve as technical resource when needed. Actively participates in meetings as a resource for materials management, purchases and ensures quality products/services are provided.
  • Represents materials organization and participates as a member of the operations team in making cross-functional operational decisions. Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality to achieve cost reduction targets.
