About The Position

Join Axon and be a Force for Good. At Axon, we’re on a mission to Protect Life. We’re explorers, pursuing society’s most critical safety and justice issues with our ecosystem of devices and cloud software. Like our products, we work better together. We connect with candor and care, seeking out diverse perspectives from our customers, communities and each other. Life at Axon is fast-paced, challenging and meaningful. Here, you’ll take ownership and drive real change. Constantly grow as you work hard for a mission that matters at a company where you matter. Your Impact Own and elevate the global quality performance of Axon’s manufacturing ecosystem — across internal operations, contract manufacturers, and suppliers. Drive measurable reductions in COPQ, defects, and quality escapes while enabling high-volume, scalable production. Build a globally consistent, data-driven quality system that prevents failures and ensures every product performs in mission-critical environments.

Requirements

  • Proven leadership experience in global manufacturing quality within high-volume hardware environments
  • Track record of reducing COPQ, improving yield, and eliminating quality escapes at scale
  • Deep expertise in supplier quality, failure analysis, and production process control
  • Experience optimizing inspection and test strategies without increasing risk
  • Hands-on experience deploying automation or AI-driven quality systems in production
  • Ability to lead across regions, influence cross-functional teams, and drive accountability
  • Strong technical foundation (Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Own global quality performance across all Axon sites, driving measurable improvements in COPQ, DPPM, FPY, and inspection effectiveness with clear accountability
  • Identify and eliminate systemic drivers of scrap, rework, and quality loss, ensuring issues are resolved at the root — not managed downstream
  • Redesign inspection, sampling, and high-volume test strategies to optimize coverage, cost, and throughput without increasing risk
  • Scale AI-enabled and automated quality systems, shifting the organization from reactive inspection to predictive, real-time control
  • Lead quality infrastructure including QC labs, failure analysis, and production quality systems to deliver fast, accurate, and actionable insights
  • Drive rapid containment and resolution of quality issues while holding suppliers to a high and enforceable performance bar
  • Ensure new products are validated, reliable, and ready to scale globally without introducing quality risk at launch
  • Build and lead a high-performing global team that operates with ownership, urgency, and data-driven decision-making
