About The Position

The position is responsible for leading and managing the Make/Buy function and manufacturing engineering activities across all NABC Fabco operations, including New Flyer Winnipeg, New Flyer Anniston, MCI Winnipeg, KMG, and Jamestown, ensuring strong performance, strategic alignment, and operational readiness. It also oversees and advances the Fabco lean journey, driving continuous improvement, operational excellence, and standardized lean practices across all applicable locations.

Requirements

P.Eng, CET, or equivalent background in manufacturing engineering
Minimum 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing management environment.
Ability to use a computer, mobile phone, and other equipment required to perform essential job functions.
Skills in manufacturing engineering, lean manufacturing, operational excellence, project management, and MS Office.
Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time.
Ability to work effectively within a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Lead manufacturing engineering teams across all Fabco sites in support of the Annual Operating Plan and strategic initiatives.
Direct top level make buy analysis in coordination with Fabco Operations, NABC Sourcing, and NABC Process Planning.
Lead the Fabco lean enterprise team and oversee the OpEx journey across all Fabco locations, including Carfair.
Co develop and manage the Fabco manufacturing readiness process to ensure teams can consistently build quality parts on time.
Provide a progressive, interactive, innovative, and collaborative work environment that strengthens team performance and organizational effectiveness.
Ensure policies and processes meet all Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality requirements.
Oversee all non Carfair Fabco Facility Council projects, including required reporting and presentations.
Participate in the creation of the Annual Operating Plan for manufacturing operations.
Create and manage annual departmental budgets, including expense, training, capital, salary, indirect, and in sourcing components.
Develop and execute capital investment, aged equipment replacement, and new technology roadmaps for all non Carfair Fabco operations.
Develop and execute the Fabco Lean Journey, including OpEx and Hoshin Kanri strategic roadmaps.
Support the creation and execution of Fabco strategic growth roadmaps, including insourcing/outsourcing, M&A, and footprint optimization initiatives.
Set departmental goals and metrics and hold teams accountable for achieving them.
Reduce machine downtime through PM programs, TPM, operator and maintenance training, OEM engagement, and equipment replacement.
Support Finance in creating and maintaining P&L statements for all Fabco locations.
Lead assigned strategic change projects.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.
Ensure all ICFR internal controls within scope are properly designed and operating effectively.
Ensure policies and processes meet all regulatory, legal, quality, environmental, and health & safety requirements.
