About The Position
The Director of Laboratory is responsible for the overall management and operation of the laboratory department. This includes establishing and enforcing policies, procedures, standards, and objectives. The role involves directing and supervising staff, managing workflow, and holding budgetary or fiscal accountability. The position requires 24-hour responsibility for the effective operation of the assigned departments, supporting the hospital's mission, vision, goals, and objectives by focusing on patients, physicians, employees, volunteers, and the community. Key responsibilities include the continuous assessment, improvement, coordination, and integration of the departments' services and standards of care. The Director is responsible for approving timekeeping, conducting employee evaluations, ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory standards, and approving supply orders. - Ongoing accountability for the continuous assessment, improvement, coordination and integration of the departments' services and standards of care into the hospital’s primary function.
