About The Position

The Administration and Finance (A&F) division at the University of Central Florida (UCF) is seeking a Director of Knowledge Management. This role will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive knowledge management program for the division, translating divisional priorities into structured, actionable practices. The Director will establish governance, standards, and processes for effective knowledge creation, maintenance, and sharing. Key responsibilities include advancing workforce readiness through training, strengthening collaboration, and supporting change adoption in alignment with university, state, and federal requirements. The role also oversees the execution of knowledge management initiatives across units, coordinating communications, tracking progress, and ensuring accountability through structured project management. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and collaborative leader with expertise in knowledge management, project management, change leadership, and process improvement, possessing strong communication skills and a data-informed approach to drive adoption in a complex environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree and 6+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
  • All applicants must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position, and the university cannot accommodate H‑1B transfers or employment-based visa processing for individuals currently sponsored by another employer.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading enterprise-wide or cross-functional programs and initiatives in higher education or a similarly complex institutional environment.
  • Experience designing, implementing, or managing a formal knowledge management or content governance program using knowledge management platforms, learning management systems, or AI-enabled tools.
  • Experience using project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Microsoft Planner, Asana, or similar) to manage complex, multi-workstream initiatives.
  • Experience designing and facilitating training programs or learning experiences for professional staff audiences.
  • Experience leading organizational change initiatives, including stakeholder engagement and driving adoption of new processes or systems.
  • Master's degree in Organizational Development, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, Instructional Design, Knowledge Management, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certifications such as Lean Six Sigma, Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP), Prosci Change Management Certification, Certified Knowledge Manager (CKM), or similar credentials.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a division wide knowledge management strategy.
  • Establish and maintain standards for knowledge creation, organization and life-cycle management, including regular review and updates to ensure accuracy and usability.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and accessibility requirements.
  • Lead the Knowledge Management Liaison Network to surface needs, support prioritization, and drive communication and adoption across division units.
  • Establish and manage an intake and prioritization framework for training and knowledge requests, aligned with divisional priorities, capacity, and risk.
  • Manage workflow for training and knowledge development efforts from intake through delivery, ensuring alignment with priorities, transparency, and timely execution.
  • Oversee execution of knowledge management initiatives, including tracking progress, assignments, and deliverables using tools such as Microsoft Planner.
  • Operationalize knowledge management standards through structured processes, templates, and tools that enable subject matter experts.
  • Serve as a liaison between division subject matter experts and UCF IT business analysts to support analysis of complex processes and identify technology-enabled solutions.
  • Oversee knowledge repositories and platforms, including enterprise systems (Workday, TeamDynamix), websites, and collaboration tools, in partnership with UCF IT.
  • Establish governance for content structure, ownership, and life-cycle management across platforms.
  • Enable subject matter experts to manage content through standards, tools, and clear expectations.
  • Ensure content accuracy, usability, and accessibility across systems.
  • In collaboration with HR Talent Development and division subject matter experts, co-develop and facilitate training programs and onboarding resources for division employees, budget and finance professionals across the university, and the broader campus community based on prioritized needs.
  • Design and support leadership development initiatives to strengthen management capabilities and promote effective decision making.
  • Equip Knowledge Management Liaisons and subject matter experts to develop, communicate, and sustain training and knowledge assets.
  • Facilitate training delivery and learning sessions in partnership with subject matter experts and division leadership.
  • Measure and continuously improve training effectiveness.
  • Lead and coordinate change enablement to support adoption of knowledge management strategies, training, and process standards.
  • Partner with division units and campus stakeholders to align efforts, enhance operational efficiency, and support service excellence.
  • Oversee division-wide communications to ensure clarity, consistency, and awareness of priorities and resources.
  • Promote collaboration and accountability through clear expectations and cross-unit engagement.
