About The Position

University Enterprises Corporation at CSUSB ("UEC") supports the university's educational mission by providing quality services that complement the instructional program. The University depends upon UEC to provide services that cannot be supported with state funds. We’re responsible for business enterprises on campus including, but not limited to, dining, bookstore, convenience store, and vending services. We also serve as the grantee for federal, state, and local funding for research and sponsored projects. This is a Temporary, MP Staff, Exempt, Full Time, Benefited position through 6/30/2027 (Appointment may be renewed annually based upon availability of funds, availability of work and satisfactory job performance). Salary: $6,250.00-$7,083.00 per month. Location: ITLS CSUSB Campus. Exempt 40+ hours per week. Typically, Monday through Friday, 9:00AM to 5:30PM. Some nights and weekends may be required.

Requirements

  • B.A. in Child Development or related field.
  • At least 2 years of successful leadership and management experience within the early childhood field is required.
  • Possess a Child Development Permit: Site Supervisor or higher or meet the qualifications to obtain upon hiring.
  • Meet all necessary training requirements for Community Care Licensing within 30 days of hire.
  • Knowledge of NAEYC best practices, accreditation standards, child abuse reporting, universal precautions, tools for child observation and assessment required.
  • The incumbent must be knowledgeable in program administration (including fiscal management), budgeting, staff supervision and personnel policies, grant administration, contracts, and laws as they pertain to licensed childcare centers under Title 22.
  • Knowledge of early childhood education principles, infant/toddler development, and developmentally appropriate practices.
  • Applicants must possess excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication and problem-solving skills and have a friendly, helpful, professional attitude, be reliable, dependable, punctual, and responsible.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat Reader and use of internet search engines.
  • Ability to lead, supervise, mentor, and evaluate staff, interns, and practicum students.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with children, families, staff, faculty, and community partners.
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and regulations consistently and effectively.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple responsibilities and program operations.
  • Ability to analyze information, solve problems, and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professional judgment.
  • Ability to support the instructional and observational functions of a laboratory school environment.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the philosophy and program goals for all classrooms.
  • Oversee daily operations of the Infant/Toddler Lab School to ensure high-quality programming and services.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable licensing regulations and university policies and procedures.
  • Monitor application, enrollment, intake, certification, and recordkeeping processes for all applicable federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Oversee the implementation of child assessments, developmental screenings, and parent conferences.
  • Conduct program orientations and tours for families each semester and upon request.
  • Monitor enrollment levels to maintain program capacity and ensure required staffing ratios are consistently met.
  • Ensure parent compliance with program policies, regulations, and payment schedules; implement appropriate follow-up and corrective actions when necessary.
  • Serve as liaison to the Infant/Toddler Lab School Parent Advisory Committee.
  • Plan and facilitate parent education events and family engagement activities on a consistent basis.
  • Coordinate and support the lab school’s role as a training and practicum site for college students, interns, and early childhood education professionals.
  • Maintain observation rooms and related learning environments to support coursework, research, training, and supervised student observations.
  • Ensure required documentation, immunization records, background clearances, and placement requirements for interns, practicum students, and student employees are maintained in compliance with licensing regulations, university policies, and program standards.
  • Develop, implement, monitor, and reconcile program budgets in collaboration with university and departmental procedures.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness in payroll, accounts receivable, billing, purchasing, inventory control, and related fiscal processes.
  • Monitor equipment purchasing, maintenance, and inventory management.
  • Analyze financial data, trends, enrollment reports, and revenue projections to support program planning and decision-making.
  • Monitor parent fee collection processes and ensure consistency and accuracy in payments.
  • Coordinate and support annual fundraising activities to supplement program funding.
  • Assist with submitting proposals for grants and additional funding opportunities from government and community sources.
  • Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate teachers, staff, and student employees.
  • Conduct staff orientations and ongoing training to ensure compliance with program expectations, policies, and licensing requirements.
  • Facilitate regular staff and teacher meetings to support communication, collaboration, and program effectiveness.
  • Provide leadership in program development, strategic planning, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and team building.
  • Support and encourage ongoing professional development opportunities for all staff.
  • Ensure parent conferences, staff evaluations, and student assessments are completed in a timely manner.
  • Support student advocacy efforts related to childcare funding and access to services.
  • Ensure staff compliance with safety procedures, hazardous materials protocols, emergency preparedness, and proper equipment usage.
  • Maintain a safe, healthy, and developmentally appropriate environment for children, families, staff, and students.
  • Conduct annual safety audits and equipment assessments to ensure operational readiness and compliance standards are met.
  • Conduct regular safety drills and review safety procedures annually to ensure compliance with licensing regulations.
  • Provide referrals and information regarding campus and community resources to enrolled families as needed.
  • Represent the program at campus events including orientation programs, career fairs, recruitment activities, and recognition events.
  • Engage with community organizations and professional groups to promote awareness of the program and advocate for quality childcare services.
  • Collaborate with faculty and academic departments to support student learning outcomes and fieldwork experiences.
  • Participate in departmental, division, university, and committee meetings, trainings, and planning sessions.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned in support of program and university operations.
  • Limited travel may be required for training, conferences and other professional development opportunities.
