About The Position

Lead and manage investigations encompassing an expansive range of fraud impacting the enterprise, from organized retail crime cases to health fraud, cyber-crime, insurance fraud, and ecommerce. Maximize analytical insight, in collaboration with the wider GI in-country team and law enforcement agencies. This role reports to the Group Director, Enterprise Fraud Investigations and is responsible for building and leading an international investigative capability aligned to Walmart’s global risk priorities.

Requirements

  • Self-starter with experience across multiple fraud typologies and possess a proactive investigative mindset.
  • Proven track record in conducting complex investigations.
  • Exceptional written communication skills and the proven ability to understand and present complex information to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Excellent collaborator and have a strong network, internally and externally.
  • Experience of liaising with law enforcement and government agencies.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and capable of interfacing Walmart’s business platforms to present investigative findings and identify risks.
  • Can leverage AI, proactive analytics, and large datasets to identify trends.
  • Demonstrate advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and can learn new software tools with minimal training.
  • Hold, or be willing to obtain, relevant professional certifications (e.g., CFE, CPP, or equivalent).
  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Political Science, or related field and 5 years’ experience in investigative casework/management, auditing, security, or related field OR 7 years’ experience in investigative casework/management, auditing, security, or related field.
  • 3 years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the EFI Directors, the FFC Senior Director, and in-country GI Directors to assess risk and map fraud.
  • Design, engage, and influence investigative resources aligned to the highest fraud-risk portfolios.
  • Support the development of complex investigations focused on ORC, eCommerce, Health and Insurance Fraud along with other significant enterprise risks to Walmart’s business that could also include misappropriation, personal conduct, and major crime across multiple business segments.
  • Adopt a working partnership with international stakeholders, including Asset Protection, Fraud Strategy, the IROCC, and Legal Investigations to successfully close cases.
  • Execute a proactive investigative strategy, maximizing analytics to identify potential risk trends.
  • Liaise with law enforcement and retail trade associates to share best practice and intelligence.
  • Collaborate with leadership and internal business partners to remediate process gaps identified through investigations.
  • Support investigators in developing investigative theories using specialized techniques to gather and evaluate evidence, perform analysis, and draw findings.
  • Be the subject matter expert in your team’s casework.
  • Review reports ready for closure to ensure they meet internal and statutory requirements.
  • Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Provide on-call support through a roster to respond to critical incidents via a war room operation.
  • Undertake international travel to visit investigators and develop key partnerships.
  • Manage case metrics, produce regular reporting on investigative outcomes, and present findings to senior leadership.
