About The Position

The Insurance Consultant, Director role serves as a subject matter expert, proactively driving the adoption and integration of IFG's suite of insurance strategies. This individual plays a critical role in promoting insurance business growth by delivering consultative support, enhancing advisor understanding, and facilitating the practical application of the firm's insurance solutions across IFG's affiliated advisor network. This is a 100% on-site position based in the office. The selected candidate is expected to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, unless traveling for business. Regular in-office collaboration and advisor engagement are essential components of this role. Requirements

  • 10+ years in Insurance strategies, sales support, or practice management roles within the independent advisor marketplace.
  • Deep understanding of Insurance solutions and their application in advisor practices, as well as competitive appreciation for same.
  • Strong presentation, relationship management, and selling skills.
  • FINRA Series 7 and 66 or 63 and 65 required.
  • Must be willing to travel.
  • Maintain activity metrics in CRM (Salesforce,)
  • comfort with proposal tools, and financial planning software.
  • Clear and persuasive written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Insurance Education and Support: To increase advisor competency related to Insurance solutions available at IFG.
  • Provide field-based case consultation, platform usage/navigation, and sales strategy support: Whole Life, VUL, IUL, Term, Disability, LTC, Advanced Estate Planning, Premium Financing, Business Protection, Trust Strategies, Basic Legacy Planning Etc.
  • Deliver training programs, webinars, and workshops on Insurance best practices.
  • Introduce key Insurance options, tools, and platform enhancements.
  • Encourage IFG Advisors to bring their outside insurance business under IFG’s umbrella.
  • Assist advisors in insurance client meetings, case development, recommendations, suitability and placement.
  • Create original content for IFG publications.
  • Participate in recruitment efforts
  • Maintain Minimum Activity Consulting and Pipeline Development Metrics: Maintain at/above target consistent pace of proactive engagement with advisors via virtual meetings, in-office visits, and events tied to consulting efforts.
  • Maintain activity metrics, meeting notes, etc. on CRM system (Salesforce.)
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of opportunities with clear stages of the sales process and conversion tracking.
  • Deliver Target/Above Insurance Growth Within Territory: Meet/exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual Insurance revenue, and sales targets for relevant territory.
  • Meet/exceed the quarterly minimum number of actively engaged IFG advisors using the firm’s Insurance platform.
  • Meet/exceed target of new Insurance producers.
  • Maintain IFG Solution Knowledge and Sales Competency: Maintain a high level of competency and knowledge on full suite of Insurance strategies available at IFG.
  • Continuous improvement of individual sales competency and selling skills.
  • Provide Market and Competitive Feedback: Provide regular insights and feedback to Vice President of Product Consulting based on advisor input to coordinate with the marketing team to build sales enablement tools and value-add positioning content.
  • Gather advisor feedback and usage data to inform FMO Partners and overall Insurance offerings strategy.
