About The Position

The Director of Information Technology is responsible for the leadership and coordination of the information technology (IT) services of the college, and has primary responsibility for short and long-range planning of the college's technical infrastructure to ensure that it supports current and future technology, programming, and communications requirements.  The position provides oversight to the management of the college's computer software systems, servers, and networks, for the implementation and integration of enterprise systems and associated subsystems, and for IT instructional and operational support activities. The Director ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to institutional values and that standard practices and procedures are documented, accomplished, and appropriately maintained. This position provides training and technical assistance to all faculty and staff in the use of computers and technology for all college locations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology related curriculum or closely related field from an accredited institution is required.
  • Five (5) years' experience managing IT operations is required.
  • Three (3) years' experience in managing personnel is required.
  • Ability to work non-standard and extended hours is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous work experience in an educational setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Management. Supervises and directs departmental personnel in providing quality IT services .
  • Strategic Planning. Develops short and long-range plans for the IT and telecommunications infrastructurein support of the mission of the  College.
  • Department Operations. Oversees all Department operations to ensure high-quality IT services are provided to staff and students.
  • General Operations. Oversees Department daily operations, performing administrative duties, and directing staff activities associated with all aspects of the Department.
  • System Security. Designs, implements, and administers an effective system for safeguarding the College's data system from internal and external attack.
  • College Expectations. Dependability, attendance, punctuality, and a commitment to do the job right are essential at all times.
