As the organization’s senior-most technology leader, the Director takes a hands-on role, responsible for the strategy, build-out, and day-to-day operation of all information systems and IT, spanning cybersecurity; application selection, implementation, and support; vendor management; end-user services; telecommunications; networking; compliance; configuration management; external integrations; system administration; and hardware infrastructure. Partnering closely with leaders across the business, the Director sets the multi-year vision and roadmap to modernize and streamline enterprise systems. They define, drive, and measure the processes, standards, and methods that ensure applications and infrastructure reliably meet evolving business needs. Work with the senior leadership team and functional heads to align business objectives with the IT strategy, priorities, and delivery timelines. Own IT strategic planning, portfolio and project management, road map development, budgeting, vendor oversight, change control, and validation/release management. Build and lead a high-performing IT function of hybrid internal and external resources embeds operational-excellence practices to drive continuous improvement. Cultivate a collaborative, service-oriented culture. Define clear performance metrics and report results to teams, partners, and executives. Ensure high security, availability, performance, and scalability across applications, infrastructure, and hardware, supporting PC, Linux and Apple environments. Maintain and grow the company’s business intelligence and data integration platforms to support process automation, data analytics, and market intelligence functions. Support multi-cloud infrastructure, optimizing performance and cost-efficiency. Maintain, improve upon, and routinely test a robust cybersecurity program, including policies, standards, training, and a cross-functional information-risk assessment process. Develop, maintain, and regularly test comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plans. Conduct budget analysis, contract negotiation, financial planning, and forecasting to ensure appropriate staffing and systems funding. Maintain compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and GMP requirements; support the design, operation, and testing of IS internal controls. Oversee two office locations in Rockville, Maryland and Waltham, Massachusetts. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging threats, and new technologies, plan timely upgrades or replacements of IT systems. Manage within approved budgets, demonstrate fiscal accountability, and uphold high ethical standards across the IT organization.
