As we continue to grow, we are enhancing our leadership in General Indirect Sourcing to streamline spend, strengthen governance, and drive enterprise-wide improvements across travel, mobility, corporate services, facilities, and professional services. The Director, Indirect Sourcing – General (Travel & Mobility) is a senior enterprise leader responsible for developing and executing global sourcing strategies across broad indirect categories, including Travel & Mobility, Corporate Services, Facilities & MRO, Professional Services, Marketing & Communications, and other general indirect spend areas. This leader partners directly with senior executives across HR, Finance, Facilities, Legal, Operations, Corporate Travel, and site leadership teams to optimize spend, elevate supplier performance, mitigate risk, drive operational efficiencies, and build robust category governance. The Director serves as the enterprise authority on general indirect categories—shaping policy, improving service delivery, and leading high-impact supplier negotiations and consolidation strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, Operations, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in indirect sourcing, with significant leadership experience across General Indirect and Travel & Mobility categories.

  • Experience in medical device, healthcare, or other regulated environments.
  • MBA or professional certifications (CPSM, CIPS, GBTA, CPP).
  • Background in global travel program management, facilities operations, mobility/relocation, or corporate services.
  • Experience supporting corporate consolidation, outsourcing, or major transformation programs.
  • Demonstrated success leading enterprise-wide sourcing strategies and major negotiations.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior leadership across multiple functions.
  • Advanced skills in financial analysis, TCO modeling, contract negotiation, and category management.
  • Experience leading governance programs and supplier relationship management frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and own the global indirect sourcing strategy for general categories including Travel, Mobility, Facilities, Corporate Services, and Professional Services.
  • Drive enterprise-wide strategic planning, category roadmaps, and multi‑year sourcing initiatives aligned to business objectives.
  • Influence senior leadership on procurement governance, spend optimization, supplier risk, and demand management.
  • Champion modernization of travel, mobility, facilities, and services programs across the global enterprise.
  • Lead global categories across: Travel & Mobility Facilities & MRO Corporate Services Professional Services (non‑IT) HR Services & Talent vendors Marketing, creative agencies, promotional materials
  • Oversee high-value RFx programs, multi‑site contracts, preferred vendor strategies, and consolidation across categories.
  • Evaluate supply markets, cost drivers, inflationary trends, and risk exposure; convert insights into enterprise strategies.
  • Deliver sustained TCO reduction, supplier performance improvement, and strategic value creation.
  • Act as the primary strategic sourcing partner to senior leaders across HR, Finance, Facilities, Operations, and Corporate Travel.
  • Influence cross-functional stakeholders through market insights, business case development, and data-driven recommendations.
  • Build alignment with global and regional teams to support rollouts, policy updates, and sourcing compliance.
  • Lead negotiations for complex MSAs, SOWs, global service agreements, and multi‑year frameworks.
  • Partner with Legal, Finance, EHS, and Corporate Travel to drive contracting excellence—ensuring strong commercial protections and performance guarantees.
  • Establish governance frameworks, renewal calendars, and supplier intake processes to maintain sourcing discipline.
  • Optimize enterprise risk management across safety, insurance, data privacy, service levels, and sustainability.
  • Build and lead an SRM framework for priority suppliers across travel, facilities, corporate services, and professional services.
  • Drive executive business reviews, KPI performance, service improvement plans, and innovation initiatives.
  • Ensure suppliers meet CONMED’s expectations for service, safety, sustainability, and compliance.
  • Strengthen procurement governance, intake workflows, and enterprise policies.
  • Establish playbooks, process documentation, and analytics dashboards to enhance visibility and decision-making.
  • Lead programs to reduce supplier fragmentation, standardize services, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Support and influence major transformation efforts such as site strategy, professional services optimization, and travel modernization.
