About The Position

The Manager, Strategic Sourcing - Indirect (e.g., Retail, Entertainment, Professional Services, Marketing, HR) will lead and manage efforts to secure optimal sourcing opportunities with local and regional impacts. This role aims to deliver value, drive savings, increase efficiency, assure supply, and mitigate supply chain risks. The Manager will act as a strategic partner who listens to understand business needs, plan and implement sourcing initiatives, and ensure project timelines and deliverables are met. The Manager, Strategic Sourcing – Indirect is responsible for ensuring integration of the procurement/sourcing policy and utilizing a strategic sourcing process that includes but is not limited to a rigorous market/region analysis, supplier risk analysis, and baseline spend analysis, to generate options and document a strategic sourcing plan that may include RFP execution, negotiations with suppliers, contract execution and implementation, and monitoring of source recommendations. They will work closely with various functional stakeholder groups at the VP and SVP level, providing expertise in effective strategy development, spend management, analysis, and negotiation. This role requires someone with leadership experience, business savvy, and the ability to influence spend decisions.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Travel & Hospitality, Retail, Supply Chain or other applicable disciplines
  • Advanced spreadsheet and numerical analysis skills including financial cost analysis; should cost and total cost of ownership; Working knowledge of spend analytics and eRFX tools.
  • Strong Negotiation Skills, Strong business ethics, strong problem-solving ability, Strong multi-tasking capability in complex situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and problem solve

  • 5+ years’ relevant experience in the travel and service industry leading strategic sourcing initiatives utilizing best practices category management methodology (“six- “or “seven-step process”) with expertise in influencing business strategy and supplier relations.
  • Relevant experience leading strategic sourcing initiatives within areas of indirect spend.

  • CPSM or travel certifications preferred but NOT REQUIRED.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and implement an integrated strategic process across brands. This role will work with brand stakeholders and Corporate to identify strategic sourcing opportunities that effectively leverage our size and scale to deliver a competitive economic advantage while maintaining or improving quality and service levels. As needed, this role will develop a deep spend analysis by commodity, vendor and/or SKU to develop opportunities including an overall sourcing strategy
  • Manages Strategic Sourcing Initiatives utilizing a strategic sourcing process (including but not limited to a market/region analysis, supplier risk analysis, baseline spend analysis, RFP execution, formal negotiation strategy and plan, contracting and implementation and monitoring of source recommendation). They negotiate multi-million-dollar contracts on behalf of Carnival engaging with suppliers at the COO and CEO level
  • Manages Contracts and Key Supplier Relationships
  • Engages and collaborates with brand stakeholders and corporate teams. This position will be responsible for managing the category portfolio and have significant spend oversight in Opex/CapEx. This involves a) Developing and implementing multi-year growth plans for their category or “business units”; b) Commercial awareness and continuously managing trends and gaps in the market that impact their category and in turn the companies supply chain; and c) Managing suppliers to ensure flow of products/services to company is unhindered
  • Delivers Results to Performance Goals and Measurement including but not limited to hard savings, cost avoidance, supplier diversity and sustainability.
