About The Position

Child Development Schools is seeking a Director-in-Training to join their team. This program is designed to prepare individuals for a School Director role through a 3-month intensive, hands-on training period. The training includes a one-week onsite boot camp in Clayton, NC, covering essential aspects of center management such as hiring, budgeting, marketing, and curriculum. Upon successful completion, graduates may be offered a permanent position as a School Director.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in early childhood education or a similar leadership role.
  • Certified or licensed as required by the state.
  • Strong communication skills with a passion for children, families, and staff.
  • Excellent multitasking abilities to manage schedules, tasks, and unexpected situations.
  • Flexibility and a hands-on approach, willing to assist wherever needed.

Nice To Haves

  • CDA, Associate's, or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on training in hiring, team-building, budgeting, marketing, and curriculum.
  • Leading recruitment, training, and supporting staff while ensuring state compliance.
  • Supervising and inspiring the team, managing staffing schedules, and handling substitutes.
  • Building relationships with families and staff.
  • Conducting tours for prospective families.
  • Maintaining a safe and clean school environment.
  • Handling administrative tasks including billing, payroll, and record-keeping.
  • Assisting with various operational tasks as needed, such as cooking, cleaning, and classroom support.
