About The Position

UPMC Altoona is seeking a Director of Imaging Services. This role is pivotal in ensuring high-quality imaging services, operational excellence, and collaborative leadership across departments. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in healthcare administration, imaging services, proven management experience, and a passion for advancing services in alignment with the mission and vision of UPMC. The Director will Develop, plan, and lead the operations, as well as lead and/or manage system Imaging Service Center initiatives, projects or departments as defined. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in health care administration or related field, 7 years of experience, 3 years in a management capacity
OR master's degree in health care administration or related field and completion of the Fellowship Program Graduate, 2 years of experience
OR master's degree in health care administration or related field, 5 years of experience, 3 years in a management capacity
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary.
Flexibility in working with staff at all levels
ARRT or RN preferred.

Responsibilities

Provides oversight and support to staff. Ensures performance evaluations are completed timely and accurately and establishes performance goals and developmental plans to continue to promote ongoing professional development.
Conveys courtesy, respect, enthusiasm and positive attitudes with patients, staff, medical staff and visitors.
Functions as departmental liaison with hospital administration, medical staff, Patient Care Services, external referring physicians and office staff, and other hospital departments.
Provides ongoing leadership and support to radiologists assigned to business unit. Supports leadership in activities including roll-out of operational and quality initiatives.
Develops policies and procedures in conjunction with local hospital operations as well as Imaging Service Center.
Keep current regarding developments in professional/technical fields, taking leadership role internally and externally in providing patient and community education.
Supports research initiatives and operations if applicable.
Monitors and analyzes financial performance, including profitability and volume metrics.
Implements appropriate changes to increase efficiencies, enhance revenue, and control expenses.
Supervises and oversees budget development, including operational and capital budgets with attention to department and organizational program goals, established standards of performance, and economic constraints; Demonstrates creativity and initiative and focus on cost containment and operational effectiveness activities.
Monitors operating statistics and patterns to identify trends and changes across the business unit.
Establishes criteria for setting priorities, defining goals and objectives on selected initiatives in conjunction with local hospital priorities as well as the Imaging Service Center.
Defines and reports results.
Participates in developing a corporate culture of patient and staff satisfaction, empowerment, problem solving and accountability.
Responsible for system imaging initiatives, projects, or management of programs as defined by the Imaging Service Center.
Maintains departmental compliance with accrediting bodies (i.e. TJC, ACRO, DOH, CMS, OSHA, DEP, etc.) and ensures all activities are carried out in compliance with organizational policy and local, state, and federal laws and regulations governing activities, organizational structures, management philosophy and mission and vision statements.
