About The Position

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a highly influential HR leadership role within Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Customer Channels Group (CCG). As Director, Human Resources, you will be a key member of our Regional Human Resources leadership team, helping shape and lead the HR strategy supporting CCG Functional groups, Managed Services, and Operations and Distribution locations. Based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, you will lead and develop a talented team of onsite and remote HR professionals while partnering closely with senior business leaders and HR colleagues across the organization. Your team will play an essential role in translating business and site priorities into forward-looking HR strategies that attract, engage, develop, and retain the talent needed to deliver both near- and long-term success. This role offers significant scope, visibility, and opportunity to influence. You’ll have the autonomy to shape HR strategy, strengthen organizational capability, elevate the colleague experience, and build a high-performing HR team in a multifaceted and regulated business environment.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with increasing responsibility and organizational scope.
  • 2+ years of experience leading and developing an HR team preferred.
  • Strong leadership experience
  • Experience supporting complex, multifaceted organizations; experience within regulated and/or operational environments is highly valued.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to connect business strategy, workforce needs, organizational capability, and HR solutions.
  • Demonstrated expertise across talent management, organizational effectiveness, employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, and change leadership.
  • The ability to use workforce and business data to identify insights, tell a compelling story, and influence decisions.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to advise and influence senior leaders.
  • Deep understanding of HR operating models, Centers of Excellence, and how to leverage the broader HR organization to deliver results.
  • A collaborative mindset, strong judgment, and the ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy.

Responsibilities

  • Shape the people strategy. Develop HR strategies, solutions, and strategic workforce plans that directly align talent and organizational priorities with business objectives.
  • Build exceptional talent and leadership capability. Partner with leaders to create robust talent plans that attract, retain, develop, and engage colleagues in critical roles. Lead key talent processes, including talent reviews, succession planning, performance management, and development.
  • Lead and inspire an HR team. Develop, mentor, and empower a team of HR professionals supporting onsite and remote client groups. Establish clear priorities, strengthen capabilities, and drive excellence across HR service delivery.
  • Create an engaging, high-performance culture. Champion initiatives that strengthen colleague engagement, leadership effectiveness, organizational performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Influence senior leaders. Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, bringing HR expertise, business insight, sound judgment, and data-driven perspectives to important business and talent decisions.
  • Lead through change. Develop and execute communication, training, and change-management strategies that enable successful adoption of new and expanded HR programs, services, and processes.
  • Navigate complex employee matters. Coach and counsel leaders and colleagues on employee relations, performance management, workplace concerns, disciplinary actions, and other sensitive matters while ensuring alignment with company policies and applicable legal requirements.
  • Champion One Team HR. Collaborate across Talent, Compensation, Benefits, HR Business Partners, and other HR functions to continuously improve the colleague experience and strengthen our employee value proposition.
