About The Position

The Director of Human Resources is a senior leadership role responsible for developing and executing HR strategy across a national executive protection workforce. This position partners directly with executive leadership to align people strategy with business objectives, ensuring scalable systems, compliance, and a strong organizational culture. The Director oversees all HR functions, including compliance, talent management, workforce planning, and leadership development. This is an in-office position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, or related field
  • 8+ years of HR experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role
  • Deep expertise in multi-state compliance, especially California labor law
  • Experience supporting distributed or operational workforces (security, law enforcement, military, or similar industries preferred)
  • Proven ability to build HR systems and scale processes in a growing organization
  • Strong business acumen and ability to partner with executive leadership
  • Strong MS Office 365 Skills
  • Working and in use knowledge of HRIS systems especially Paycom
  • Experience running payroll and all associated reports

  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Security, law enforcement, military, or similar industries experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee payroll functions
  • Develop and lead HR strategy to support company growth and operational needs
  • Oversee all HR functions, including employee relations, compliance, talent acquisition, and performance management
  • Ensure full compliance with multi-state employment laws, with heavy emphasis on California regulations
  • Advise executive leadership on organizational structure, workforce planning, and risk management
  • Build and refine HR infrastructure, policies, and scalable processes
  • Lead complex employee relations matters, investigations, and high-level disciplinary actions
  • Establish and track key HR metrics to inform business decisions
  • Oversee compensation, benefits strategy, and vendor relationships
  • Drive leadership development and performance management frameworks
  • Manage and mentor HR staff
