Job Summary SHI is seeking a Program Director to lead the IT side of our HRIS program, accountable for end-to-end delivery of the Workday migration and for seamless partnership with HR leadership. This role orchestrates cross-functional IT workstreams (platform, integrations, data, reporting, security), governs scope, schedule, financials, and risk, and enables decision-making across SteerCo, Program Leadership, and HR stakeholder groups. The program’s scope includes Workday Core HCM and prioritized modules such as Compensation, Recruiting, Time Tracking, Benefits, Talent, Learning, and related integrations as defined in our HRIS selection and roadmap materials.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of IT program management and 10+ years in IT delivery/operations, leading large, complex software implementations.
  • Demonstrated ability to assemble and lead cross-functional teams and vendors/SIs to deliver enterprise programs.
  • Mastery of scope, schedule, budget, and risk management, with strong follow-up and accountability.
  • Proficiency with Agile and Waterfall methodologies; comfortable operating in hybrid frameworks.
  • Executive-caliber communication—able to simplify complex topics and influence decisions across HR and IT.
  • Advanced financial acumen and data-driven decision-making for program optimization.
  • MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to travel to SHI, Partner, and Customer Events
  • Ability to travel 25%

Nice To Haves

  • Workday implementation leadership across phases (Architect & Configure, Unit Testing, E2E, Deploy, Hypercare) with partner coordination (e.g., EY/CrossVue).
  • Experience delivering Workday modules such as Core HCM, Recruiting, Compensation, Time Tracking, Benefits, Talent, and Learning, plus Success Plan and Cloud Connects.
  • Integration leadership spanning HRIS and enterprise systems (e.g., iCIMS, payroll, benefits, identity, analytics/BI), including cutover planning and hypercare.
  • Understanding of IT landscapes that commonly interface with HRIS (e.g., D365, data platforms, security, identity, DR) and how to align them during migration.

Responsibilities

  • Own program delivery for IT across phases (Plan, Architect & Configure, Test, Deploy, and Hypercare), driving outcomes, quality, and readiness for go-live(s).
  • Serve as the strategic advisor to executive leaders, HR leadership, SteerCo, and project teams—bringing clear recommendations and facilitating timely decisions.
  • Establish and run program governance (SteerCo/Program Leadership/Core & Execution teams), aligning priorities, budgets, and scope across HR and IT.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary IT teams (internal staff, SI partners, and vendors), ensuring resourcing, velocity, and on-time, high-quality delivery.
  • Plan and execute integrated project plans with milestones, billing gates, and critical dependencies (data conversion, integrations, reporting, security, and access).
  • Manage scope and change control; create and drive change requests with clear impacts to timeline, cost, and value.
  • Own program financials (forecast, actuals, variance), ensuring milestone attainment and overall project profitability.
  • Partner with HR leadership to confirm process and configuration decisions, coordinating Workday tenant activities and Customer Confirmation/testing cycles.
  • Coordinate integration strategy across HRIS and adjacent systems (e.g., iCIMS, payroll, benefits, identity), overseeing design, build, and cutover.
  • Drive risk/issue management with actionable mitigation and escalation pathways; maintain a visible RAID log and ensure SteerCo clarity on trade-offs.
  • Lead stakeholder communication (executive readouts, status, decisions, and impacts) with crisp, outcome-oriented messaging.
  • Contribute to process improvement and mentor program and project managers across IT Transformation.
