About The Position

The Bank of Nova Scotia seeks a Director, HR Change Initiatives, U.S Region in Dallas, TX to lead the U.S. Location Strategy and Transformation. This role involves partnering with the U.S. Executive Committee and global HR to open and staff new U.S. offices. The Director will lead a team of Senior Manager, HRBPs, providing strategic direction and leadership, and defining cross-functional and cross-regional talent programs and strategies. The position requires leading the execution of HR strategies and initiatives aligned with U.S. regional growth objectives, ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies. A key responsibility is developing and implementing a multi-year HR strategy and workforce transformation plan. The role also involves collaborating with Talent Acquisition on hiring strategies, partnering with various departments on HR initiatives, overseeing talent-related workstreams, and defining and tracking talent KPIs/OKRs. Additionally, the Director will partner with U.S. Risk to meet regulatory requirements and support the U.S. HR lead on globalization efforts and board materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in any field
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or a related occupation
  • Managing transformational HR initiatives across multiple locations in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Deploying and managing HR systems including Core HR, talent acquisition, learning, and case management
  • Leading projects using standard project management methodologies including agile, waterfall, and software development lifecycle
  • Designing and executing HR strategy and overseeing HR corporate governance
  • Incorporating compensation program design including market analysis, pay equity assessments, and enterprise bonus adjudication

Responsibilities

  • Lead the U.S. Location Strategy and Transformation, partnering with U.S. ExCo and global HR to open and staff new U.S. office in Dallas.
  • Lead a team of Senior Manager, HRBPs, providing strategic direction and leadership, and defining cross-functional and cross-regional talent programs and strategies.
  • Lead the execution of HR strategies and initiatives aligned with U.S. regional growth objectives, ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies.
  • Develop and implement a multi-year HR strategy and workforce transformation plan.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to define and execute hiring strategies for campus and experienced roles.
  • Partner with communications, finance, COO, and global HR to plan and execute HR-related initiatives.
  • Oversee talent-related workstreams and contribute to technical, enablement, and change management efforts.
  • Define and track talent KPIs/OKRs to measure workforce program success.
  • Partner with U.S. Risk to meet regulatory requirements related to Resolution Planning, Operational Resiliency, and Category 3 status.
  • Support U.S. HR lead on globalization of the HR function.
  • Assist U.S. HR Head with board materials and executive committee deliverables.

Benefits

  • Salary Range: $180,000 - $301,500 per year
