PPD, the global Clinical Research Group of Thermo Fisher, provides comprehensive, integrated drug development, laboratory and lifecycle management services. Our customers include pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, academic and government organizations. How will you make an impact? As Director, HR Business Partner dedicated to our Analytical Services Division, you will be a strategic business partner supporting organizational success through effective people strategies. This role will work closely with senior leadership in our GMP business, our lab that provides high-quality analytical services for small molecules and biologics including active pharmaceutical ingredient (API), drug products, inhaled products and other medical devices for all phases of drug development. This lab boasts 2,500+ employees globally and 700,000 sq ft of lab space in the US and Europe. This role is office-based in our Middleton, WI office and offers 1 work from home day per week. The Director translates business objectives into actionable HR initiatives that help build and retain a talented, diverse workforce. You'll guide organizational development efforts across global teams, facilitate change management, and cultivate an inclusive culture built on our 4i values (Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement). This strategic and solutions-oriented role will work closely with regionally aligned HR business partners, HR platforms and centers of excellence to deliver the businesses strategy and HR operations. The successful candidate will have a thoughtful approach to talent management, using data-driven insights to enhance business capabilities while maintaining a positive workplace culture. You'll serve as a trusted advisor to leaders on complex initiatives around performance management to organizational design, supporting business growth through effective people strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or related field or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification (Advanced degree preferred)
  • Previous HR experience in a large multinational organization, with demonstrated success as a senior HR business partner that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 10+ years’ experience)
  • Demonstrated success in implementing organizational design initiatives, business and change programs and processes that yield positive results.
  • Experience working with global teams in a fast-paced, heavily matrixed, and diverse environment.
  • Experience and strength leveraging financial acumen and insights and data to drive strategic consultation.
  • Advanced project management, analytical, and data interpretation skills
  • Business acumen with ability to link HR strategies to business outcomes
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills with in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Project management, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and act with tact and emotional intelligence.
  • Skilled in developing professional relationships with leadership, direct reports, and peers and ability to influence effectively.
  • Able to communicate, receive, and understand information and ideas with diverse groups of people in a comprehensible and reasonable manner.
  • Able to work upright and stationary for typical working hours.
  • Ability to use and learn standard office equipment and technology with proficiency.
  • Able to perform successfully under pressure while prioritizing and handling multiple projects or activities.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, which includes a drug screening.

  • Consult with our Centers of Excellence (COE's) in Talent Management, Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, HR Shared Services and Analytics to achieve successful program objectives.
