About The Position

As Director, HR Business Partner for Global Risk Management, you will partner with senior leaders to shape people strategies that support business priorities, regulatory requirements, transformation initiatives, and long-term workforce needs. You will play a key role in building high-performing, resilient teams in functions that safeguard the Bank’s integrity and reputation, while working closely with COEs and HR Services to deliver practical, insight-led solutions.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5-7 years in HR leadership roles, ideally with complex/regulated environments.
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders while navigating complexity, ambiguity and high stakes decision-making.
  • Strong capability to leverage workforce data and people insights to drive decisions, shape strategies and influence outcomes.
  • Deep knowledge of talent management, organizational design, succession planning, employee engagement, and workforce analytics.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and capability with emerging AI tools and HR technologies to drive innovation & build a future ready workforce.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; able to build trust, inspire, and support cross-cultural teams.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding to enable appropriate partnership with client groups.

Nice To Haves

  • CHRP, CHRL or other HR designation is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders in Global Risk Management on workforce strategy, talent development, succession planning, and organizational design.
  • Translate business priorities and regulatory requirements into actionable, innovative people solutions.
  • Represent HR in high-level strategic discussions, influencing business decisions with data-driven insights.
  • Design and execute strategies to attract, retain, and develop top talent in specialized, high-stakes functions.
  • Coach leaders to strengthen performance, engagement, and inclusion, to build capabilities for the future.
  • Embed HR practices that uphold the Bank's risk culture, ethical standards, and regulatory obligations.
  • Partner with leaders to ensure teams operate effectively within these frameworks while achieving business goals.
  • Influence culture and behaviour by fostering accountability, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Champion ScotiaBond Values & Behaviours, embedding trust, inclusion, accountability, and collaboration into team operations and decision-making.
  • Partner with Senior leaders to ensure that leadership practices reinforce desired behaviours, strengthen team culture and drive engagement.
  • Lead HR initiatives supporting business transformation, digital adoption, and workforce modernization.
  • Champion a future-ready HR function that is flexible, scalable, and globally integrated.
