About The Position

Adverum Biotechnologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of Eli Lilly and Company, is seeking a Director, HEOR (Contract) to lead the development and execution of evidence generation strategies for multiple assets, indications, and geographies. This role is crucial for shaping brand, asset, and enterprise decisions through deep expertise and cross-functional collaboration. The Director will ensure HEOR plans align with product strategy, commercial objectives, and scientific rigor across the therapeutic area portfolio. They will drive synergies, eliminate duplication, provide execution updates, and partner with cross-functional teams to develop innovative strategies and secure stakeholder alignment.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree (MD, PharmD, MS).
  • Minimum of ten years of working experience with a Master's degree, or seven years with a PhD (fellowship experience can be included).
  • Professional training in a health field (MD, PharmD, etc.) is a plus.
  • Ophthalmology/Retina experience is a must.
  • Experience leading complex products and/or clinical development in support of pipeline development and on-market product support.
  • Experience within the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
  • Ability to perform in previously uncharted territory with few established guidelines or procedures.
  • Ability to follow exceedingly complex governmental rules and regulations and direct compliance knowledgeably and expeditiously.
  • Ability to develop creative and effective solutions to inter- and intra-project priority conflicts, resource constraints, and other problems impacting project or group goals and deliverables across multiple programs.
  • Extensive knowledge of the global regulatory, HTA, and PR&A landscape, as well as understanding of other development-related functions across all phases of drug development.
  • Proven leadership skills in a cross-functional global team environment.
  • Ability to interact externally and internally to support global business strategy.
  • Ability to interact successfully with Senior Management globally (Executive staff, Area VPs, GMs, etc.).
  • Ability to act as the HEOR project/group champion and spokesperson.
  • High goal-orientation with the ability to see solutions rather than problems.
  • Must be a self-starter with a strong desire to see projects achieve commercial success.
  • Skills to perform the dual roles of leading a cross-functional team and managing scientific personnel in clinical research.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the design and conduct of multiple programs and effectively communicates findings and their strategic impact to internal (Executive Leadership, Area VP) and external (HTAs/Payors, patient advocacy groups, KOLs, etc.) audiences.
  • Serves as the HEOR strategy lead interacting with cross-functional brand teams.
  • Determines, in collaboration with cross-functional leaders, the global development strategy for new or marketed products and contributes to the Therapeutic Area Long Range Plan and Portfolio Planning.
  • Drives the design and aggressive execution of a high-quality HEOR program supporting the therapeutic area strategy for pipeline and on-market products, ensuring ethical, scientific, regulatory, commercial, and quality requirements are met.
  • In the post-marketing setting, develops and executes product life cycle and labeling strategies in collaboration with scientific and commercial team members across the TA portfolio.
  • Ensures scientific and communication excellence of all data elements agreed upon by the matrix team.
  • Accountable for end-to-end delivery of the HEOR book of work, from strategy development to content pull-through.
  • Ensures strong partnership with all relevant HEOR COE functions to represent a comprehensive HEOR voice in cross-functional meetings.
  • Demonstrates executive presence and ability to engage with senior leaders in a cross-functional setting.
