About The Position

Fitch Solutions is currently seeking a Head of Americas Country Risk Research based out of our New York office. Requirements

  • Significant experience in country risk and economic analysis and forecasting, with a strong focus on the Americas.
  • Proven experience managing and developing a team of analysts.
  • MA/MSc in Economics or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Fluent spoken and written English; Spanish proficiency an advantage
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong public speaking ability and confidence in representing BMI at industry events.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex concepts clearly and simply.
  • Advanced analytical capabilities, including handling large datasets and forecasting key macroeconomic indicators.
  • Ability to prioritise, manage deadlines, and perform under pressure.
  • Commercially minded, with a deep understanding of the business intelligence value proposition.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of country risk analysts, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and professional growth. Set clear expectations and support team members through coaching, training, and development initiatives.
  • Drive the editorial and analytical strategy for the Americas country risk team, ensuring the delivery of insightful, high-quality data, analytics and insights. Provide thought leadership on macroeconomic and political risk issues.
  • Serve as the leading representative for BMI on Americas country risk, presenting views and forecasts to clients, industry stakeholders, and at major events. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners, including macroeconomic and political risk analysts, industry teams, and commercial colleagues.
  • Act as the primary analytical lead for a portfolio of key countries and thematic research, ensuring rigorous analysis and accurate forecasting across macroeconomic indicators.
  • Demonstrate a keen understanding of the commercial value of research and data, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance and commercialize our content to meet client needs. Collaborate closely with sales teams to support clients and drive business growth.
  • Contribute to wider research projects and initiatives, supporting cross-functional collaboration and innovation.
