About The Position

PrizePicks is seeking a Director of Government Affairs to lead advocacy efforts with legislators and key stakeholders on issues related to daily fantasy sports, gaming, and sports and entertainment. This is a high-impact role for a thoughtful, driven professional passionate about great consumer products and public policies that support consumer choice. The role reports into the VP of Public Affairs.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in policy, government, and/or campaign roles.
  • Strong grasp of politics, media and communications, and the legislative process.
  • Familiarity with tech, consumer apps, and gaming issues.
  • Ability to distill complex competitive and policy dynamics into concise, high-impact, politically attuned messaging for internal and external audiences.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to quickly forge connections and build relationships.
  • Aptitude for finding creative solutions and securing wins in rapidly changing, multi-jurisdictional environments.
  • A conviction that there's always a way through and persistence to adapt until the right solution is found.
  • Ability to pass key personnel submissions and background checks for gaming licenses.
  • A competitive mindset and passion for ensuring consumers have access to innovative options.
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the public representative of PrizePicks to state legislators, regulators, governors, and attorneys general, ensuring they understand and champion the company's customers and business.
  • Build and maintain relationships with allies, undecided stakeholders, and even those with differing views, while engaging with third-party stakeholders, peers, and competitors across the broader gaming ecosystem.
  • Lead the development and execution of legislative and regulatory strategy in assigned jurisdictions, keeping internal stakeholders informed of progress.
  • Collaborate closely with communications, legal, product, and marketing teams to articulate the PrizePicks story and support the user community.
  • Manage external firms and lobbyists, ensuring efficient and impactful use of resources.
  • Travel frequently to attend stakeholder meetings, political organization conferences, and industry events for relationship building.
