About The Position

This position will advocate before the executive and legislative branches of the federal government on behalf of a leading global cargo airline. This role will serve as a key member of the Global Government Relations team which represents the Company before Congress, regulators, international policymakers, state and local governments, and other stakeholders. The successful candidate will help shape and execute advocacy strategies on a broad range of corporate issues with a focus on transportation and environmental policy. The ideal candidate will bring strong Capitol Hill relationships and deep experience navigating complex legislative and political environments.

Requirements

  • 10 years of relevant experience with a keen understanding of the U.S. Congress, executive branch, PAC and trade association landscape.
  • Ability to work on a bi-partisan basis and to interact professionally and constructively with senior government officials and staffers with different backgrounds
  • Deep understanding of the aviation industry as well as experience with administrative agencies.
  • Experience preparing and staffing C-Suite and other executive leaders to interact in public and private settings on high level issues and engagements.
  • Demonstrated experience creatively leveraging a range of tools and tactics to influence policy outcomes.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communications skills, including public speaking roles on behalf of a company/government/organization.
  • Advanced ability to research and analyze complex policy issues.
  • Superior time-management skills with respect to setting priorities and managing multiple workflows against tight deadlines.
  • Outstanding professional poise and maturity when interacting with internal and external colleagues at every level.

Nice To Haves

  • Capitol Hill experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Educates policymakers on key Company initiatives and general corporate matters.
  • Track, analyze, and influence bills, hearings, amendments, and appropriations relevant to Atlas. This primarily includes aviation and climate policy but may also include tax, energy, security, workforce development, and occasionally hub specific matters.
  • Provides timely analysis to Global Government Affairs colleagues on federal policy developments
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with congressional offices, committee staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Closely with internal teams to ensure integrated advocacy strategies.
  • Draft policy analyses, briefing materials, testimony, correspondence, legislation, and strategic communications for Congress and federal agencies.
  • Promotes Atlas Air’s brand with stakeholders and supports awareness of the Company’s community affairs and philanthropic efforts.
  • Support ongoing outreach to members of our corporate PAC, including briefings and monthly communication.
  • Represent the company in association meetings, stakeholder discussions, and external events.
