About The Position

BioMarin’s Technical Operations group is responsible for creating our drugs for use in clinical trials and for scaling production of those drugs for the commercial market. These engineers, technicians, scientists and support staff build and maintain BioMarin’s cutting-edge manufacturing processes and sites, provide quality assurance and quality control to ensure we meet regulatory standards, and procure the needed goods and services to support manufacturing and coordinating the worldwide movement of our drugs to patients. The Director, Supply Chain Framework, will lead the design, standardization, and governance of BioMarin’s end-to-end supply chain processes. This leader drives process transformation, operational consistency, and cross-market adoption while partnering across Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Clinical, and Commercial to embed best practices and deliver sustained performance improvement.

Requirements

  • Experience leading enterprise transformation or global process ownership
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business or related field; MBA or master’s preferred
  • 12+ years of experience with global supply chain processes
  • Knowledge of S&OP/IBP, planning, logistics, Product Management
  • Demonstrated success driving cross-functional transformation
  • Strong governance, influence, and stakeholder management skills across global, matrixed organization

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Lean, Six Sigma Black Belt, or other recognized Operational Excellence methodology is highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Global Supply Chain Leadership team to develop and maintain end-to-end process standards across Planning, Distribution, Launches, Variations, Value Chain, and Clinical Supply Chain that drive consistency, scalability, and alignment with corporate standards.
  • Manage changes to these processes through clearly defined approval gates and compliance checks, aligned with global design principles and applicable GxP/regulatory requirements.
  • Build and sustain the frameworks, documentation, and governance routines that keep processes auditable, transparent, and audit-ready.
  • Serve as the global process authority for end-to-end supply chain process, with accountability for decision governance, prioritization, and escalation across functions and regions
  • Lead the Supply Chain end-to-end process redesign initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, quality, and agility throughout the supply chain in its current scope.
  • Partner with Digital and Analytics teams to integrate advanced technologies and data-driven solutions into core processes for Supply Chain scope.
  • Continuously identify bottlenecks and implement structured improvement plans that deliver measurable business impact.
  • Drive implementation of new processes, ensuring seamless integration across all supply chain functions.
  • Design and deliver capability-building programs, including training and change management strategies, to foster adoption.
  • Monitor adherence and performance, using insights to refine processes and sustain long-term improvements.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team, including direct and dotted-line reports, responsible for process excellence, governance, capability building, and continuous improvement.
  • Align process strategies with broader business objectives by collaborating with Manufacturing, Clinical, QA, Commercial, and Finance.
  • Serve as a process owner and escalation point for critical issues, ensuring timely resolution and stakeholder alignment.
  • Represent Supply Chain Excellence in senior leadership forums, steering committees, and governance bodies to drive alignment, investment decisions, and adoption.
  • Deliver measurable improvements in supply reliability, inventory efficiency, launch execution, compliance readiness, and end-to-end planning effectiveness.
  • Establish KPIs, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms to measure process performance and maturity across the organization.
  • Conduct regular assessments to identify improvement opportunities and benchmark against industry best practices.
