Reporting to the Vice President, Corporate Procurement & Supply Chain, the Director, Global Sourcing – Mechanical & Chemical will play a key enterprise leadership role in shaping how Veralto sources the critical materials that power our global operating companies. This role will set and execute sourcing strategies across mechanical commodities, chemical categories, and related manufacturing inputs—driving measurable impact through cost productivity, supplier performance, supply assurance, risk mitigation, responsible sourcing, and commercial excellence. This is a high-visibility opportunity to influence across a global, matrixed organization, leverage Veralto’s scale, and partner with leaders across the business to strengthen our supply base, improve margins, and deliver meaningful results. This position is part of the Corporate Procurement & Supply Chain team based in Waltham, MA and will follow a hybrid work model. Candidates who can work hybrid from Wood Dale, IL, Loveland, CO, or Glen Allen, VA will also be considered. This role includes domestic and international travel up to 40% of the time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience leading strategic sourcing, procurement, supply chain, or operations initiatives within a global manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience developing and executing category strategies across mechanical components, and chemical categories. Additional direct-material category management is a plus.
  • Demonstrated success leading enterprise-wide sourcing initiatives and influencing stakeholders in complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including supplier negotiations, contract management, cost productivity, total costs, cost drivers, and value creation.
  • Experience leveraging spend analytics, market intelligence, and digital procurement tools to support sourcing decisions.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as business needs require for up to 40% of the time.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree (MBA or Master's) and/or professional certifications such as CPSM, CPM, or CIPS.
  • Experience with regulated manufacturing environments, chemical sourcing, supplier qualification, or global regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience with supplier sustainability, responsible sourcing, EcoVadis, and supplier risk management programs.
  • Experience supporting M&A, integration activities, or enterprise-wide transformation initiatives.
  • Experience with Lean, DBS, VES, or other continuous improvement operating systems.
  • Experience with AI tools and e-sourcing tools.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute global category strategies for mechanical and chemical sourcing categories, including metals, castings, machined components, plastics, fabricated assemblies, resins, solvents, reagents, specialty chemicals, packaging, and related manufacturing inputs.
  • Develop 3–5 year category roadmaps that align with Veralto’s business priorities, margin expansion goals, and operating company needs.
  • Leverage market intelligence, should-cost analysis, commodity trends, chemical feedstock dynamics, regulatory considerations, and total cost of ownership tools to support decision-making and budgeting, and executive business reviews.
  • Lead strategic sourcing initiatives, supplier negotiations, contracting activities, and supplier selection processes.
  • Deliver validated productivity improvements, cost reductions, and supplier consolidation opportunities across operating companies.
  • Manage category productivity funnels and ensure achievement of annual savings commitments.
  • Establish preferred supplier programs and executive-level supplier governance models.
  • Monitor supplier performance across quality, delivery, cost, innovation, sustainability, and risk.
  • Expand enterprise adoption of strategic supplier relationships and global framework agreements.
  • Develop sourcing strategies that improve supply continuity and reduce exposure to geopolitical, tariff, logistics, and commodity-market risks.
  • Partner with regulatory, quality, and EHS teams to ensure compliance and responsible sourcing practices.
  • Leverage EcoVadis and similar tools to improve supplier sustainability visibility and performance.
  • Partner with sourcing leaders, engineering, operations, finance, legal, and executive stakeholders across Veralto operating companies.
  • Support acquisition integration and sourcing synergy initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement through the Veralto Enterprise System, including Kaizen events, standard work, and cross-functional problem solving.
