Director, Global PMO

Crunchyroll, LLC•Los Angeles, CA
•$162,800 - $203,500•Hybrid

About The Position

As the Director, Global PMO, you will lead the Global PMO within Operational Excellence and Transformation, elevating Crunchyroll's execution discipline by providing a consistent approach to planning, governing, and delivering complex cross-functional programs. You will lead the PMO as both a center of excellence and an execution team - establishing common standards, tools, governance, and reporting while directly providing program leadership for Crunchyroll’s highest-priority initiatives where dedicated PM capability is required. You will be an execution leader and a capability builder: able to turn ambiguous priorities into integrated plans, create clarity across functions and regions, surface risks and decisions early, and drive teams to measurable outcomes. While your role may not own the underlying business strategy or functional execution, it provides the program structure, governance, leadership, and accountability required to deliver complex initiatives predictably and strengthen project management capability across Crunchyroll.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of professional experience in program/project management, business operations, strategy, transformation, or management consulting, including significant experience leading large cross-functional programs and managing project or program-management professionals.
  • 5+ years of experience managing program managers.
  • Demonstrated experience building and scaling global programs, operating models, or PMO frameworks from the ground up—including establishing the governance, processes, tools, and cross-functional alignment needed to drive consistent execution across regions.
  • Proven track record delivering complex, multi-workstream programs from ambiguity through implementation, including initiatives with global or regional stakeholders and significant business, operational, and technology dependencies.
  • Deep expertise in integrated planning, program governance, portfolio management, RAID management, executive reporting, and decision/escalation mechanisms, with demonstrated experience designing or scaling PMO standards and operating practices.
  • Exceptional executive presence, communication, analytical synthesis, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to create clarity, influence senior leaders, and drive accountability across teams without relying on direct authority.
  • Experience with project management tools (i.e. Asana, JIRA, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in media, entertainment, streaming, digital platforms, or technology, with exposure to content, marketing, localization, or digital supply-chain operations.
  • Experience with large-scale business transformation, operational excellence, management consulting, and/or change-management programs.
  • Experience working across global and regional operating models and with technology-enabled transformation, including automation or AI initiatives delivered in partnership with enterprise technology teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day Global PMO as a COE + Execution team; translate enterprise and OXT priorities into a focused PMO portfolio; establish operating cadences, performance expectations, and resource-allocation principles; and build a high-performing team capable of leading complex work across the organization.
  • Lead or oversee high-priority cross-functional programs such as territory launches, pricing changes, operating-model changes, and other strategic initiatives; build integrated plans across workstreams, owners, milestones, dependencies, and outcomes; and maintain momentum from mobilization through implementation and handoff.
  • Establish fit-for-purpose governance forums, RAID management, decision pathways, escalation mechanisms, and executive-sponsor engagement; ensure risks, dependencies, and blockers are surfaced early, owners are clear, decisions are made at the right level, and commitments are followed through.
  • Maintain a transparent, fact-based view of the PMO portfolio covering priorities, progress, readiness, milestones, risks, dependencies, decisions, capacity constraints, and expected benefits; synthesize complex information into concise executive reporting and actionable recommendations for the Senior Director and senior stakeholders.
  • Define and continuously improve common project and program-management methodologies, templates, tools, reporting standards, and governance practices; coach embedded PMs and business teams on effective execution; and raise project-management maturity without becoming the default PM resource for teams that can build or sustain their own capability.
  • Build strong partnerships across Regional teams, Content, Marketing, Product, Finance, Legal, Engineering, Business Development, Enterprise Technology, and other functions; work closely with Campaign Operations, Business Analysis, Process Transformation, Operations Transformation, and Knowledge Management so programs have the right analytical support, change discipline, and sustainable handoff.
  • Partner with business owners and Business Analysis to define success measures, track program outcomes, and identify performance or adoption gaps; use lessons learned and portfolio insights to improve PMO practices, strengthen predictability, and create a culture focused on measurable business outcomes rather than project activity.
