The Director, Global Operations Governance is a senior leadership role responsible for establishing, executing, and sustaining the governance framework that drives strategic initiative deployment across Vertiv's global operations. This position partners collaboratively with Regional Operations Excellence leaders, the VOS (Vertiv Operating System) organization, Project Management Office leaders, site leadership, Global Business Units (GBUs), and central functions to design, implement, and enforce governance around the creation, monitoring, and reporting of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) aligned to Vertiv's strategic priorities: Customer Focus, Operational Excellence, High Performance Culture, Innovation, and Financial Strength. This role serves as the custodian of global operational excellence governance and a catalyst for developing a high-performance culture driven by safety, discipline, transparency, and accountability through rigorous VOS deployment and Lean methodology adoption. The Director will play a critical role in accelerating Vertiv's journey toward manufacturing excellence, leveraging the AI-enabled operations to achieve superior customer experience, and an optimized global manufacturing network.

Requirements

  • Strategic Leadership: Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional, matrixed teams in a global manufacturing environment without direct authority
  • Governance & Compliance: Deep expertise in designing and implementing governance frameworks, management operating systems, and performance review cadences
  • AI & Digital Fluency: Demonstrated experience leveraging artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, and digital tools to drive operational decision-making and process automation
  • Performance Management: Strong capability in KPI design, balanced scorecard methodology, and data-driven performance gap analysis
  • Communication Excellence: Superior verbal and written communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex operational data into concise, executive-ready insights and actionable recommendations

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field (required)

Nice To Haves

  • 10-15 years of progressive experience in operations management, continuous improvement, or program management in global manufacturing companies of comparable scale
  • Previous experience in a global matrixed organization with multi-regional accountability
  • Deep understanding of end-to-end manufacturing value chain including SIOP, OTC, NPDI, and P2P processes
  • Risk management and scenario planning expertise, particularly in the context of geopolitical complexity and supply chain resilience
  • Industry knowledge in critical infrastructure, power management, thermal management, or related industrial sectors
  • Familiarity with ESG/sustainability metrics governance in manufacturing operations
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or PgMP (Program Management Professional)
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt
  • Certified Change Management Professional
  • Master's degree (MBA, MS Engineering, or equivalent) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain the global operations governance framework including tiered review cadences, escalation mechanisms, and compliance audits across all regions (Americas, EMEA, Greater China, India, Asia)
  • Own the Global Operations Scorecard governance — ensuring consistent definition, measurement, and reporting of KPIs across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Cost, Supplier, Sustainability, Footprint Optimization, and People metrics
  • Drive the Breakthrough Objective Deployment process, ensuring alignment between 3-year strategic objectives and annual operating plans
  • Govern the integrity and standardization of performance data to enable data-driven strategic decision-making at the executive level
  • Lead cross-functional and matrixed teams across the global organization toward common strategic objectives, managing interdependencies and resource conflicts
  • Direct the project portfolio ensuring quality execution, on-time delivery, and targeted financial benefits realization
  • Provide enterprise-level project planning, milestone management, scope governance, resource forecasting, financial management, and change management across the strategic initiative portfolio
  • Support the acceleration of Lean Culture and tools deployment: strategy deployment, systemic performance management, root cause analysis, and rapid problem solving
  • Drive governance mechanisms to improve Customer service levels and reduce customer claims toward strategic targets
  • Support customer collaboration initiatives including Global Strategic Account (GSA) operational alignment
  • Ensure governance of order fulfillment lead time reduction and delivery accuracy improvement programs
  • Govern the deployment roadmap for 'Mandatory' and 'Must' IT systems (MES, WMS, SIOP, QMS) as critical enablers of Manufacturing Excellence and AI adoption
  • Leverage AI and advanced analytics to enhance governance reporting, predictive performance management, and decision support capabilities
  • Act as business partner in transactional complexity reduction during new systems deployment and digital transformation initiatives
  • Drive organization and skill development to build governance and project management capabilities across the operations function
  • Support the "Build the Bench" initiative ensuring versatile, "ready now" leadership talent for business continuity
  • Foster a Culture of Quality where continuous improvement and harmonized processes are critical success factors
