About The Position

The Global Facility, Real Estate, and Environmental Director will provide strategic leadership to manage PHINIA’s facilities. In this role, you will build and lead a team responsible for ensuring an effective and efficient approach to all aspects of the facilities lifecycle. You will use broad knowledge of workplace strategy, project management, and facilities management to negotiate rental and owned properties, and support local offices, technical centers, and manufacturing facilities in handling environmental and legislative requirements that improve employee experience, drive savings, and increase project delivery speed and quality. The role will partner with PHINIA footprint planning, Plant Managers, and VPGMs to optimize footprint while driving strategic initiatives to achieve PHINIA’s Sustainability Goals. This role will report to the Vice President, Operational Excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, management, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in engineering, manufacturing, or facilities management.
  • Previous supervisory experience required.
  • Able to travel frequently – 30-40% average.
  • Must be proactive and willing to take on challenging assignments and create opportunity where none exists.
  • Must demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, in addition to strong project management skills.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to interact with all global sites and the ESG Steering Committee.
  • Technical understanding related to plumbing, electrical and HVAC and/or coordination of these activities of technical suppliers.

  • Experience in facilities management, safety, and environmental regulations is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and managerial support to a diverse team of professionals including facilities managers for offices, technical centers, and manufacturing facilities globally.
  • Responsible for maintaining global facility list with attention to environmental concerns, audits, leasing terms, and competitive markets.
  • Support analysis and recommendations for capital expenditures involving building, equipment, and other facility related plans related to renovation, maintenance, safety and environmental.
  • Provide facility management direction in a timely, cost-effective manner.
  • Maintain department monthly budget and forecast including cost savings activities and energy management to achieve superior performance.
  • Set direction for all aspects of document control related to safety and environmental, country, state, and federal requirements.
  • Significant interface with global site security practices.
  • Direct support of construction projects globally with interaction of service providers and local facility teams.
  • Respond to building and equipment alarms and emergency situations, 24x7.
  • Act as a conduit of information for upper management and communicate with all employees in building related emergency situations, power and service disruptions. This includes membership and support of the Critical Event Management Team.
  • Provide direction for the upkeep of equipment, building systems and life safety equipment to meet health and safety standards.
  • Manage providers to review and monitor utilities consumption and strive to minimize costs.
  • This role also requires generation and monitoring deliverables for Sustainability efforts of PHINIA. This includes monitoring and maintaining PHINIA Power Consumption Database.
  • Manage providers to review activities like parking space allocation, waste disposal and recycling.
  • Drive strategic initiatives and reporting for water and waste conservation.
  • Support HR initiatives related to facilities.
  • Support and coordinate global event planning activities related to all employee meetings, customer events, investor day and tours of government officials.
  • Conduct space planning activities according to segment requirements, aligned with the global footprint planning team.
  • Oversee lease and property negotiation support for all facilities globally.
  • Maintain view of open environmental issues including reporting, remediation, etc.
