Nscale is building the infrastructure for the AI revolution, developing cutting-edge, sovereign generative AI solutions powered by a new generation of high-performance, sustainable data centers and GPUs built specifically for AI workloads. The rapid growth of artificial intelligence is driving unprecedented global demand for compute and GPU infrastructure. Nscale is delivering the platforms that will enable the next decade of innovation by integrating next-generation compute hardware and GPU clusters across both partner and self-delivered facilities. This is a unique opportunity to join Nscale's journey, play a pivotal role in delivering transformative AI infrastructure, and help shape a company designed to scale rapidly across North America, Europe, and beyond. The Director, Generation Electrical Engineering will own the electrical power system design of Nscale's generation facilities, from generator terminals to the data center boundary. Nscale's Power and Energy group develops behind-the-meter generation colocated with our data center campuses, including large reciprocating engine fleets, battery energy storage systems, and medium- and high-voltage distribution operating as islanded microgrids. Building gigawatts of island-mode generation that is safe, buildable, and operable for decades demands owner's engineering of a kind that cannot be outsourced, and this role owns that engineering. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you will set the electrical design basis for our generation facilities, drive the engineering through one-line development, equipment specification, power system studies, and construction, and manage the specialist engineers, consultants, and OEM technical teams doing the work. You will be the owner's technical authority on the electrical scope, directing the work of EPC partners rather than simply accepting it, and resolving the design questions where island-mode generation at this scale has no off-the-shelf answer. You will work alongside a peer Director, Generation Controls, Protection, and Automation, with this role owning the power system itself and the peer owning how that system is controlled and protected. Close partnership is part of the job.
