About The Position

The Director, Toy FP&A is responsible for leading Toy financial planning; forecasting, performance analysis, and strategic decision support. This role serves as a key finance business partner to senior leadership, providing actionable insights that drive business performance, operational efficiency, and long-term growth. This position owns the annual Budgeting process, forecasting cycles, financial modeling, and management reporting, for the Toy Creative Centre, while partnering cross-functionally with business leaders to support strategic decision-making. The Director, Toy FP&A operates as a senior finance leader, balancing hands-on analytical execution with strategic leadership, and plays a critical role in shaping the financial direction of the organization.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience in FP&A, corporate finance, strategic finance, or related leadership roles.
  • Strong experience leading budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and financial modeling in complex business environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and translate financial insights into strategic business recommendations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience building executive dashboards, KPI frameworks, and management reporting packages.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling expertise; experience with ERP and FP&A systems (e.g., SAP, Adaptive, Anaplan, Hyperion, NetSuite, or similar).

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Toy organization’s annual budgeting, quarterly forecast and long-range planning processes.
  • Develop and maintain Toy financial models to support strategic planning, investment decisions, and scenario analysis.
  • Provide financial leadership through monthly and quarterly performance reporting, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and insights.
  • Partner closely with business leaders to evaluate operational performance, identify risks and opportunities, and drive accountability against financial targets.
  • Build dashboards, KPIs, and performance reporting frameworks to improve visibility into business performance and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Support executive leadership with business case development, ROI analysis, strategic investment evaluations, operating expense management, and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Drive process improvements across planning, forecasting, reporting, and financial analysis to increase accuracy, and efficiency while driving continuous improvement in financial systems, reporting tools, and planning capabilities.
  • Establish and maintain financial planning standards, governance, and reporting processes across the organization.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Corporate FPA, Accounting, Treasury, Operations Finance, and other business functions to ensure alignment between financial planning and operational execution.
  • Develop executive-level presentations, board materials, and financial storytelling for senior stakeholders.
  • Lead scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to support changing business priorities and market conditions.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to finance team members while fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture.
  • Support strategic initiatives including business expansion planning and organizational transformation efforts as needed.
