The Director, Foundation Partnerships is responsible for managing and advancing a national portfolio of foundation partners and prospects that drive revenue growth and long-term partnership sustainability. Reporting to the Senior Director, Foundation Relations, this role serves as the strategic relationship manager for assigned foundation accounts, guiding partnerships through the full lifecycle from prospect qualification and cultivation to stewardship, renewal, and growth. Success in this role requires balancing relationship management with operational excellence, ensuring every partner experiences exceptional service, flawless execution, and measurable impact. Working collaboratively across Resource Development, Marketing & Communications, Youth Development, Field Operations, Executive Leadership, and other cross-functional teams, you'll identify new funding opportunities, strengthen existing partnerships, and help advance BGCA's national fundraising strategy. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Seven or more years of successful experience in foundation relations, fundraising, strategic partnerships, account management, business development, or related resource development work.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex external relationships and advancing philanthropic or strategic partnerships.
  • Experience managing grant reporting, budgets, proposals, and contractual deliverables with a high degree of accuracy and accountability.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with experience preparing executive-level proposals, reports, and presentations.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience using Salesforce or comparable CRM systems to manage pipeline activity, forecasting, and relationship management.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and build trusted relationships with senior leaders, foundation representatives, and external stakeholders.
  • Experience working with nonprofit organizations, philanthropic foundations, or institutional funders is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a national portfolio of foundation partners representing more than $30 million in strategic partnership value, ensuring exceptional relationship management, stewardship, fulfillment of grant commitments, and long-term partnership growth.
  • Advance foundation partnerships through the full relationship lifecycle, including prospect qualification, cultivation, solicitation, activation, stewardship, renewal, and upgrade opportunities in collaboration with Foundation Partnerships leadership and cross-functional partners.
  • Develop and execute customized account and stewardship plans that deepen relationships, maximize partner engagement, and position partnerships for long-term investment.
  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for assigned foundation partners, proactively coordinating internal resources to deliver an exceptional partner experience and resolve issues with urgency and professionalism.
  • Support proposal development, prospect research, partner activations, and funding strategies aligned with BGCA's mission and priority funding initiatives.
  • Partner with Regional Development Officers, Individual Giving, Corporate Partnerships, Youth Development, Marketing & Communications, Field Operations, Partnerships & Growth, and Executive Leadership to develop and execute integrated funding strategies.
  • Utilize Salesforce and other tools to manage pipeline activity, revenue forecasting, reporting, and account management.
  • Monitor philanthropic trends, foundation priorities, and market insights to identify emerging funding opportunities and strengthen BGCA's fundraising strategy.
  • Support divisional priorities, partner cultivation activities, conferences, and special projects as needed.
