The Director of the Center for Civil Dialogue and Civic Engagement (CDCE) at UWL provides strategic leadership in advancing campus-wide initiatives that foster belonging, inclusive excellence, civil dialogue, and principles related to civil rights. With a focus on creating opportunities for engagement, the Director plays a central role in conducting campus climate research, supporting bias education, and coordinating efforts to enhance our understanding of ourselves, our world, and our place in it. This includes overseeing programs that promote self-awareness, empathy, and respect for all identities and empowers students, faculty, and staff to navigate complex social dynamics. In this role, the Director will manage the daily operations of the CDCE, supervise and develop the Program Manager of CDCE, and student staff, and oversee the budget, ensuring the effective execution of programs. The Director will also collaborate with key campus partners to promote free expression and inclusion, advocating for policies that foster a supportive environment for all members of the campus community. Through data-driven strategies, the Director will work to create a culture that supports student success and prepares individuals to thrive in diverse workplaces, communities, and relationships, as aligned with division and university mission and values.
