About The Position

The Director of Financial Reporting will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all financial reporting activities. Reporting directly to the SVP of Accounting, this role requires a deep understanding of accounting principles, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across the organization. Additionally, the Director of Financial Reporting will be responsible for overseeing technical accounting matters, ensuring compliance with evolving standards, and providing expertise on complex accounting issues. This is a full time hybrid position on our team with the expectation to be in office 2-3 days per week at our NYC Office. Occasional travel may be required for team or company events/meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification required
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience, with at least 3-5 years in financial reporting and technical accounting at a public company
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements specific to healthcare
  • Extensive experience with technical accounting, including researching and applying accounting standards for complex transactions
  • Working knowledge of Google Office Suite (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, etc.)
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leadership

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and healthcare industry standards.
  • Collaborate with the Accounting leadership to manage the consolidation of financial results from various business units within Spring Health.
  • Lead the research, interpretation, and implementation of new accounting standards and regulations, providing technical accounting guidance to the finance team and other stakeholders.
  • Provide technical accounting support for complex transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, new products, revenue recognition, and equity compensation.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to review new contract terms and ensure appropriate technical accounting treatment.
  • Develop and implement financial reporting and technical accounting policies, procedures, and best practices to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the financial reporting process.
  • Own regulatory reporting compliance for financial results.
