About The Position

Planned Parenthood Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Financial Planning and Analysis Director with excellent technical skills to work full-time in our Downtown Los Angeles Headquarters. Under the general supervision and direction of the Chief Financial Officer, the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis directs the financial planning, budgeting and forecasting functions. About the position: Abortion patients are cared for at each of our health centers, and in part through the administrative, support, and other non-clinical services provided at all PPLA locations, and by all PPLA employees. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting, or equivalent work experience required.
  • Ten (10) years of experience in financial planning and analysis required.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of supervisory experience required
  • Availability to work flexible hours, as required.
  • Ability and willingness to travel within Los Angeles County.
  • Reliable means of transportation for onsite and off-site work

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Business Administration degree, Certified Public Accountant, or Chartered Financial Analyst preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the annual planning and periodic forecasting processes utilizing analytical tools and models and working closely with the senior management.
  • Create a culture of on-going planning by implementing a structured forecasting process.
  • Prepare financial analysis for health centers and programs. Present findings to senior leadership and develop materials for Board Meetings.
  • Lead the preparation of accurate reports, variance analysis, and commentary as part of the monthly forecasting and management reporting process. Design and improve methodologies supporting the creation of detailed financial models.
  • Proactively deliver timely and accurate reporting to monitor monthly and quarterly financial changes. Prepare and summarize business insights for management team.
  • Develop key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to support management financial awareness and drive fiscal responsibility.
  • Collaborate regularly with Controller and accounting team to ensure alignment between budget and actuals as well as understand what is driving variances.
  • Create and maintain training materials and procedural documents as it pertains to budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning.
  • Serve as the FP&A go-to person for operations. Provide regular updates to the executive team and cross-functional leaders on their financials, budgets and forecasts.
  • Prepare the annual operating and capital budget and forecasts including long-range planning through research and analysis of information from leadership, financial systems, and other data sources.
  • Analyze financial metrics to spot trends and recommend action.
  • Respond to Management questions by researching and analyzing data.
  • Assist in the management, and support and maintenance of financial systems used within the finance and accounting departments.
  • Manage direct report(s) to include but not limited to overseeing successful completion of tasks / duties, review of timesheets in a timely manner, set productivity goals & quality of work output expectations by exercising effective judgment and addressing and/or elevating grievances (staff concerns), as appropriate.
  • Adhere to PPLA’s policies and procedures for interviewing / selecting new hires, promotions, transfers, performance management and separations.
