About The Position

The Director, Finance aligns financial strategy with loanDepot’s business objectives in close collaboration with senior executive leadership. The role leads business-level financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, with a focus on Origination Channels, Fulfillment, and ancillary businesses. It evaluates the financial viability of programs and initiatives and monitors execution to support growth, operational efficiency, value creation, budget compliance, and delivery of expected benefits.

The Director provides financial insight into business operations and technologies, advises on strategic planning options, and supports business planning and organizational priorities. The role coordinates financial work across departments, contributes to cross-functional initiatives, and presents financial results and forecasts to senior leaders. It also leads and develops a finance team and advances financial systems, processes, and reporting tools.

This is a hybrid role based in Plano, Texas, or Irvine, California, with at least two days per week onsite.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or at least 10 years of experience working in a similar field.
• At least 5 years of management experience preferred.
• Financial Services sector experience required; mortgage industry experience strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
• Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work onsite at least two days per week in Plano, TX, or Irvine, CA.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of annual budgets, long-term financial plans, and forecasting processes across assigned business units.
• Develop deep expertise in business operations and technologies to provide relevant financial insight and support.
• Evaluate and advise on strategic planning options for revenue growth, operational efficiency, and cost reduction.
• Design and implement scalable, efficient processes within Finance and across support functions, including Legal, Product, Technology, and HR.
• Oversee business-level projects as a strategic partner and change agent.
• Liaise between Production, Support, and Corporate leadership teams to promote alignment, representation, and effective communication.
• Partner with stakeholders to diagnose operational challenges, lead root cause analysis, interpret findings, and deliver actionable recommendations supported by data-driven reporting.
• Ensure financial projects and programs align with enterprise-wide strategies and goals, representing Finance on cross-functional business unit initiatives.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, internal controls, and corporate governance standards.
• Prepare and deliver detailed financial results and forecasts in executive-level presentations to senior leaders, including Business Unit Heads, Presidents, and the C-Suite.
• Provide strategic consultation to senior leadership on high-impact financial opportunities and challenges.
• Build partnerships with cross-functional leaders, execute finance initiatives, and manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering accountability, continuous learning, and performance excellence.
• Promote collaboration, team cohesion, professional growth, and shared success.
• Champion ongoing improvement of financial systems, processes, and reporting tools to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
• Perform other assigned duties and projects.
